Thumbs up italianSpeed

Great post, lots of useful information, but does anyone has test this brand italianSpeed, that can give feedback? I think there is another italianspeed.eu . The price it is lower than all the ones in the table.

There is so many brands with so many different information, that it is hard to make a decision.

Anyway, there is two things that can be built in the table. "Client Support" and "Money Back". It's difficult but with the colaboration of already customers maybe can be built.

Thanks!
Luis

Great information! Would love to hear people's individual reviews as well.

Just for clarification, is this for the single turbo (with the bs marketing "twincharged turbo power") N57 found in the US-Spec F10 535D or the actual twin turbo version found in other markets?

This is for 30d/35d, single turbo. But, I noticed during the research that most of the chips were interchangeable for nearly all the N57 variations (no different part number). That said, if I had a tai-turbo m50dx / M550d I would not mess with it.

BMW's own tune is not available in the US/Canada.

Garage List
2011 BMW 335d  [0.00]
I've got a Maxchip Pro ordered, based on this chart. It seemed to hit the "sweet spot" in terms of performance vs price. It has been shipped and I will install it next week and get a review posted ASAP. Thanks go out to the people who put that chart together - VERY helpful !!

I contacted BR-Performance in Belgium about tuning a USDM X5 35D. They referred me to B&C Consulting in Luxembourg who referred me to a flash tuner in the United States called DMETuning (www.dmetuning.com). I'm a little unsure about them since I have never heard of the name and their website seems a little generic, almost like they are a flash tune supplier?

Does anyone have experience with these folks?

Thanks,
- Patrick

Hi Patrick. I wish I had more info on them. My rules for when I compiled the list were:

- show exact claimed power gain by engine/car
- show price

DME showed neither at the time.

Your list is very helpful. I am interested in forum members' personal testimony as well.

Hi Luis,
I bought a chiptuning Racing Box for my BMW 318 122 HP. It works well and is not cost much.

Currently traveling for a few weeks. I am happy to add them to the list if: 1) they state exact power gain; 2) show price.

Well I don't see us on the list! ( Malone Tuning that is )

~ 30% more power than stock for both HP and TQ.

This is an actual ECU reprogramming, not a tuning box, not an OBD box.

We've done quite a few now, and we can delete the EGR, DPF ( off road use only...... ) etc and lots of other options.

So maybe we can get in there, if anyone has any questions please feel free to PM or email me.

We are based in North America ( Canada ) and can tune a wide variety of diesels and gas motors from VW/Merc/BMW/Fiat/Dodge etc..

Thanks!

That's a different Dyno than what Malone's website shows. I'm assuming this is RWHP given the lower than quoted stock numbers? Also, the website references the 335D, which uses an M57 TwinTurbo motor (stock 265HP/425ftlbs). Do you have anything similar for the replacement motor, which is an N57 Single Turbo (stock 258HP/413ftlbs)?

Yes, sorry about that I'm from the oldschool side of BMW back when motor codes made sense.

This is captured on a dynapack and that would be Hub power. So without any tire resistance that is what you would get. It's a great motor to start with, but after the tune it was a beast!

We can certainly do the newer N57's with the EDC17CP45 ecu's no problem, I haven't had a chance to capture one locally yet so anyone in the lower mainland of BC ( Canada ) wants to get it done I'll happily get you the tune and you can write your own review!

Or we have quite a few dealers in the US and Canada that could bench flash the ECU for the tune as well.

Hi Matt,

New member here. Thanks for making a great posting and resource.

I just bought a 2009 335D with paddle shifters and NAV. From reading this thread I learned I have the M57 engine (right?) Well I have much to read and learn here.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a contributor at forums.tdiclub.com since 2004 and moderator since 2007 there. This is my third diesel car (2002 Jetta Tdi followed by a 2001 Jetta Tdi.)

Last edited by nicklockard; 08-18-2016 at 02:46 PM.. Reason: Realized I have the M57 not N57.

Thanks!

I apologize for this side track (I'll delete post later to keep your thread clean), but since I'm not able to post yet, I thought I'd ask:

Do the M57 series engines have fuel coolers? I've searched but can't find anything.

@nicklockard I am fairly certain it does not. I have never seen it in discussion at least.

You may want to look at the sticky threads on top. There is a PDF library with engine info. Another place to look would be one of the several online parts catalogs.

Thanks for the follow-up. I actually own a mercedes OM642 turbo-diesel and had a couple of questions. Your site (http://www.malonetuning.com/ecu-tuni...edes-smart-cdi ) shows a significant difference in tuning potential between the 2009+ and 2008 and earlier models. As far as I'm aware, those engines have identical stock output, but some of the later added urea injection. For example, the engine in a 2007 E320 bluetec is mechanically identical to a 2013 E350 bluetec aside from emissions treatment. So I'm trying to understand the difference between one that you can get to 275hp and one that can only get to 235hp.

Thanks!
