Be like me man, I've just given up. I don't even get into politics anymore, I don't follow it, and I don't vote. I know the day is coming when it will be time to speak up, and we're not there yet. Until TSHTF and people realize just wtf is going on, all you do is get wrapped up in a completely worthless right/left battle. Patience. |

The Net neutrality rules are hardly a government takeover. The main goals behind it are to treat all network traffic equal and to keep ISPs from censoring the data/content they see fit.

He's not wrong. This dress, the escaped llamas, celebrity gossip, etc. have NO PLACE in national news outlets. If people want to read smaller outlets to get those stories then that's fine but it shouldn't be on the front page of NBC, BBC and the like.

What I find fascinating is that despite how ridiculous this story may be, is that we live in an era where information (as stupid/pointless as it may be) is able to spread to nearly every single person on earth in the matter of hours. It's fascinating. |

But I also have little faith in the big telcos doing right by the consumer. They're the reason our internet/wifi/cellphone options suck so much worse than Europe's or Asia's. I work with folks who live in rural areas who have zero options for high speed service to their homes. That's bullshit in this day and age.

WTF.
First I saw white/gold (clear as day). Thought the people seeing blue/black were crazy. I voted white/gold. Read three pages of thread, went back and now I only see blue/black. Not slightly blue, dark blue/black. Seriously WTF. |

Thanks to a slow, boring day at work and plenty of time to experiment, it's white/gold no matter what I do... Look at it close up, far away, cover the screen in post-its to block out the background, with and without glasses, on my phone both portrait and landscape... Except for tilting the computer monitor of both my laptop and work's desktop upwards, and even with that it's a 5% margin of error before it becomes saturated.
But still, wish it wouldn't take over my news feed all the time... In other news, the Homeland Security renewal bill is at a standstill, internet is now finally a public utility, and Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock) died... But here we are 3 pages into debating a dress color. In reality, I don't care what color it is that much... I just care whether or not a dress drops on my bedroom floor with a hot chick ready to tear up my bed EDIT: Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal) agrees that it's white/gold... Saw this on FB and just HAD to post it . But then to give the opposite side of the spectrum (no lousy pun intended) a chuckle (note: I don't have any hard feelings against Clinton), I have also added another LOL worthy pic.

That is NOT the same dress that the Doctor above you commented on which is the dress in OP.
That Twitter link is definitely Blue and Black The OP dress which is the same bullshit over taking America, is Blue with Gold. My vision is above 20/20 and I have no color blindness. |

From left to right: White & Gold lace/trim - Light Blue & Gold lace/trim - Blue & Black lace/trim http://www.wired.com/2015/02/science...s-color-dress/ Now if you are NOT seeing those 3 dresses above as I stated, you are definitely color blind to some degree!

Man I read that BS already. And I understand the concept. BUT most folks are still hung up on what their eyes see.

Got some time to kill? While we are on the subject...
Here are links to 3 simple and standardized Color Blind Tests: Rather than posting the answers which anyone could say the same, I did a 'print-screen' of my results and posting them here. Eyes have cones and rods, right? Or color and shade (amount of light/dark) are two variables perceived to form what is known as "vision". Perhaps this example is one where the 'color' and 'shade' components are of equal strength so that half of people (people vary in perception and all respects) view it in terms of color, hence purple-whatever, and half see it as a shade so "black" is one of the outputs. Don't bash me because I challenge anyone to give a more cogent explanation. |
