Do you ever play with him? I keep asking questions in these situations untill the person realizes how screwed they are. They try to run away and I follow and keep pestering them. I highly recommend this as a hobby, nobody will come back for an other conversation.

I don't call him or even email em until the day we meet.
I learned that I would rather PRETEND to be a dumb one, and not to generate the extra headache.
When these family meeting happens, I try my best to sit next to FIL who need an O2 system and try to kill time. That is the very reason my visit to WA on a last visit was about 28hrs (morning to next day afternoon).

Update:

WOW, summer vacation is about to end. Thanks to the summer session which is held by city, she is not bored.

7/27-8/14 summer session started today. (M-F)
We wanted to sign up for 11:30-2pm, but due to lack of student, they all merged it with 9am-11.
