To them, you drive on the wrong side of the road. BTW, a stone is 14 pounds, or 30.8 kg.

What units do you use for your tire pressure? If someone told you to fill your tire with 2.65 bar pressure would you know how much that meant? Maybe you'd be better putting in 268.9 kPa. Or stick with what you've learnt all your life, 39 psi.

Fallacy. If we converted to metric, all the tire pressure gauge would be converted to KPA WITH KPA markings so only a retard won't know how much air to put in. If some1 told me to put in 268.9 KPA of pressure then I would look at my gauge and put in 269KPA because it will say 269KPA.

I got nothing against the Standard system, I just think its not really scientific. I mean we are measuring distances with the size of the king's foot. That's just wrong imo. and you can't write standard in exponential form, and that sucks.

Because it's way cooler to ask for a quarter from the guy you know who happens to know how to get certain things....

Then again, people are always getting busted for having kilo's of coke...

Seems like a wash

I think it's a tie!

I use metric..

But I also like to be unique (Different) 12"

I don't like to go by the same rule. So I use both..

We use SI measurements for trade and commerce only. Of course we'll be fully switched to metric right after we establish a single-payer government healthcare system.

It's even more hilarious when you realize that our current official measurements for the customary units (inches, pounds, etc) are all derivatives of metric units. One inch is not one inch, but 2.54 cm.

Space geek here. Neither Challenger nor Columbia 'crashed' because of a mix up between metric and SAE measurements. Challenger disintegrated on launch because low temperatures caused hot gases in one of the SRBs to burn through an O-Ring and then through the outer SRB casing into the lower SRB support. The SRB then pivoted, pushed the STS off course and aerodynamics tore the orbiter apart. The main tank then exploded.

The leading edge of Columbia's left wing was damaged on take off by insulating foam falling off the main tank. During re-entry, hot plasma breached the hole in the wing and basically melted everything causing the wing to detach and again, aerodynamics tore the orbiter apart.

NASA did loose the Mars Climate Orbiter in 1999. That was due to a mix up between pounds force of thrust and newtons with respect to rocket thrust.

As for me, I grew up during the changeover in the UK so I understand both systems especially since I am an engineer. Frankly, I don't care.
