I wish the US adopted the euro plate. It would be easy to implement once people understand how the system works. Spare us all of looking at those idiotic state centric plates.

93 is still north of $2.50 where I am... which is much better than when it was north of $4.50 lot that Long ago.

Screw that! It's good as it is. I know Florida plates will drive like idiots, slowly and badly in equal measures. Californians will drive all day directly beside me. Oklahomans will be slow but crazy. Coloradans will act like they've been hot boxing since day one. It's great. One National plate would kill all that.

I realize you could do a two letter code on the plate, but unless it's bigger than the EU coding, it's not going to help as much as current state plates.

I am fine with the elongated, shorter shape though as nearly all cars look better with EU plates than what the ROW uses.

LMAO. Better yet you should have them laminated and wear them around your neck at all the car shows/gatherings.

I think there was a thread on here not long ago about some tool who wanted to change up his keyfob so it was more obvious he drove an M when he put his keys on the table at parties or restaurants. No joke.

True, but they're all black lettering on white background with the country to the left on a blue background.

In the US the state initials (two letters) would replace the EU country on left and then same letter-number convention used on right hand side.

ex: Houston TX plate. TX H 12345
Galveston TX plate TX GA 12356
Lake Jackson TX plate. TX LJA 12345

I'm weird when it comes to accessorizing. I have owned two M Sports, but I think running a M badge plate frame is faux pas. Same with M badges anywhere on the exterior and BMW had to go and ruin that for me with the M235i . First thing I would do is take them all off the exterior. Too bad it would be too much effort to get it out of the instrument cluster. Aside from that specific car, I'm over completely debadging my cars. I used to be all about it and it was the first thing I did, but now IDC. Anyway, I digress. So I run just the matte black BMW frame front and rear. I consider it ok to, and do, have M valve stem caps. on an M sport, but not a non M sport. I guess the reason being the M badge that's already on the wheel itself. No M badges anywhere on a regular, non M sport or M car BMW. I do have a gaudy Z4 key chain with only my car's fob attached, but that's for me, not anyone else. I think it's pretty. That doesn't and wouldn't change the opinion of anyone who sees it, though, so that's the downside. I am not an attention seeking douche, I just like it. My spare fob just has a simple BMW logo key chain.

Also, thank God TX wen to just a black and white license plate...

Took the dealer plate frame off and bought a $4 one at my local auto shop in black. Done.

Back in my 20's when I thought I was funny, I had a personalized frame that read: SnatchaKissOrViceVersa

Got a few giggles outta the ladies; some not so much.

That's not true, there are different colors in some of the EU countries.
NL - yellow
FR - white/yellow
Belgium - White w/red letters
And many others.

And Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra and Lichtenstein don't play the EU game either. Luxembourg rocks the yellow background like the Dutch and (for now) the Brits.

Not in a long time. Maybe I'm thinking Germany where large cities get one letter, medium get two letters and so on.

In any case a plain plate would be welcome vs the birds, rainbow shut

I bet you anything Europeans would love having the option to be endlessly creative with their number plates.

Probably until they see how ridiculous the rear of a 911 looks with a bright Florida tag with a freaking manatee. . On the other hand Texas tags are tastefully done and Delaware is old school.

Hey, we rocked this stupid thing for a few years. Had to pay extra for the "throwback" plate.

I'm thinking the newer(?) one that's B&W with a star.

I no longer live in Texas but every plate I see is the B/W one so I assumed it is the new one. You're posting the old plate.

I know it's the old one, but it's still an example of even good states going batshit if they're unchecked.

Idiots. My keys never leave my pocket especially at a party.

Don't be jealous of our taxi cab yellow plates that doesn't go well with ANY color... except for taxis, of course.
