Well, I guess this would be a bad time to mention Piaget just sent me a watch to review with a retail price of $170,000.00.

Sweet "Kermit" sub!

I had one for a while, but I flipped it for a tiddy profit when I realized it wasn't getting much wrist time...I wear a suit daily and for me, it just didn't work with a suit.

Those watches aren't bad...more than I'll pay for a quartz watch...but not bad at all.

Great shot John! I've flipped watches over the past 10 years as well. I'm keeping my LV for sure. But my daily is my IWC Mark XV. Thinking about picking up a GMT II. Had a Pepsi GMT I that I sold way back.

The worse watch mistake I've made? Sold my Daytona SS Black face (Zenith movement). I miss that watch.

I kind of agree with this. I try to look for a good value (quality for the price). When I bought my last watch I asked for the "cheapest watch you have with a scratch resistant crystal". I bought a Tissot. Good value for a Swiss watch. Looks good too. I've actually gotten compliments on it.

Sorry for the

That's pretty sharp! I can't imagine wearing an under 40mm diameter watch anymore, but if I did, I'd look at one of those.

I would assume that it would be your wife whose preference would weigh the most in your decision to choose among these watches.

Why would you care what other ladies think about those watches when you are already committed to a special someone? Unless, of course, it's not your wife who you wish to please with this prospective watch...

That old saying about "asume" leaps immediately to mind.

I'm a professional watch reviewer. It's professional curiosity. Luxury mechanical watches is a male dominated hobby...I hardly ever get the opportunity to get an opinion outside of my wive's (biased) or co-workes (also biased) on watches.

And they aren't prospective watches...I own them.

Daytona What is your opinion of Jovial watches?

I have 5 of the earlier ones and let me tell you I always receive compliments on my Jovial watches. I'm glad they don't sell them in the states and only cater to Europe and Middle East

Thanks! It's 39mm with minimal bezel so to my eyes the face seems bigger than my sub. Have you looked at Panerai's yet?

I had a Breitling Crosswinds two tone that was 44mm and that thing was a beast. Sold it after two months. Couldn't handle the weight. I'm really liking Panerai's though. Maybe my next watch purchase. Either that or that Pepsi GMT II.

I agree, the Motorola V3 is a nice phone, but it makes a lousy watch...keeps falling off my wrist.

Of course, as the photograph below demonstrates, you can easily have the best of both worlds.
