Perhaps the problem isn't just our medical system?
Probably because he can’t afford to see a doctor, thanks to our medical system.

This explains why they are in the dating pool and not with someone. I've come to realize that at my age (41) that the ones worth having, are taken. Those who are still constantly looking aren't in this situation because of unfortunate circumstances but because they are terrible people, terrible with money, make poor decisions or other issues. There are some, a very low percentage, who are worth the trouble and are only single due to death, the husband cheated, etc. Then there are the unicorns that are WELL worth the effort but have no interest in a relationship because they are happy being alone.

I'd need more info to make an assessment. What I know of you is that you are single, have a love of cars and seem to have a quick, dry sense of humor. Just from our interactions on here I could see how you would intimidate those of lesser mental integrity, but that also makes for quick work of the women that you have mentioned from dating sites. You sound a lot like me a few years ago. This thread should hit home for you sir.

If you don't mind to provide details, I may be able to offer some insight depending on what it is that you want i.e. if you are wanting a relationship. If you don't want a relationship and just want an occasional or steady stream of women for physical relations, it sounds like you've got that under wrap, but I'd be happy to swap ideas.

I was half kidding. I seem to be good at picking the women that are going to cheat on me or treat me like extreme crap in other ways.

The reason for this is that this is the vast majority of women out there today. IN NO WAY am I saying ALL women, just most single women. Snap Chat, Instagram and the like have destroyed women's morals by giving them a false sense of entitlement. Men are disposable in there eyes.

Most women these days are only interested in you until the next guy comes along and starts flirting with them. Then they make posts like "Where are all the good men", "Tired of all these little boys" and "No one knows how to treat a woman these days."

On the other side of the spectrum, lots of men are just as bad.

Yep, sure have. In case you are curious, I have a tumor... in my freaking eye ball. So yeah, I get a nice little mini-Chemo injection every 4-6 weeks, directly into my eye. Avastin. Super fun. My out of pocket cost for the treatment is $565 per shot.

Is that cheap? Nope, but certainly ain't gonna break someone. Especially if they are only going once for some sort of check up for being ill.

If they are somewhat low on the income scale, then government assistance will cover the bulk of the cost. If they are truly low income, then medicaid will cover all of it. My mother is a physician as well, so intimately familiar with the specifics.

Is our medical care expensive? Yep, but it is also the best in the world. Is it affordable 99.9% of the time? Yep, it is - not cheap, but not gonna bankrupt you, either - if you are responsible and have health insurance (either private or government funded/assisted).

Meh, it is what it is. Positive side is that it can't cross the barrier between my eye and the rest of me, so it won't spread. The down side is that there is no cure, so I am on these shots for the rest of my life. They reduce it in size so that I can see, but only last a month or two. If I don't go back to get them, then my eyesight goes away. Was diagnosed about 18mos ago, and just 3-4 years ago, there was no cure, you just went blind. So who knows, maybe in another decade or two, they will find a permanent solution.

Super fun!

Overall, I guess there could be worse things. I don't let it bother me, other than the fact that on occasion, the doc hits a blood vessel during the injection and the white of my turns bright red for a few days - which makes me look like a vampire.

$565 every month could absolutely break a lot of people. Not to mention there is the several hundred dollar, or more, monthly premium you pay to have insurance...

The low income scale for help must be homeless income low. When I lost a job, I was on UE & even then I did not qualify for ANY assistance for ANYTHING. The system is broken!
