I cut my own hair, always keep it short. #2 on the sides and #3 on top. Save myself $30 bucks every time I do it.

I go to a boutique place that charges way less than it should considering the quality and time they put in. $25 and I tip $5.

1.5-->3 fade on the sides, 1/4 in off the top, straight razored hard part and neck. A lot of other nice touches too like doing my eyebrows, ears, shampoo/conditioner, etc. I go every 2-3 wks.

I understand it can get expensive but I cherish my hair as it's a huge part of my identity. I want to look my best and am willing to invest in it as long as I have hair. If it starts going I'll surely look into a transplant.

Ensure that you're considering this as long as you have enough hairmass to split. In my case all tries were too late (because I asked too late) and if they would had done this though, the hairline would only had reached the middle of my skull - which had looked with no doubt really ridiculous

The same guy has been cutting my hair for about 20 years. It took him about 4 tries to get it right because of the growing pattern. Once he figured it out, he's been gold.

Prior to him and when I lived in Dallas, I found a girl in Tampa who nailed it the first time. I would fly into Tampa every 3 weeks or so to get it cut. This went on for about 3 years until I moved back home.

Yeah I've heard this. Even with things like Bosley people have got to get on it as soon as they notice some thinning hair otherwise it'll be too late.

Sorry to hear about your situation but it sounds like you're at peace with it at least.

To be honest, it was hard to got noted by my dudes to get started bald at the rear of my head at the very late 20ies.
With mid 30ies the loss was final done and irreversible. The most annoying thing for was the fact to feel and be much younger than appearing for the unknown (special women). Felt very unattractive a longer term but I'd never considered a rug or transplantation. At least I got my todays funnier looking half and I got over it at some point.
Advantage is self cutting, ultra short hairwash and -dry procedures and my headset during flights no longer ruins my hairdressings

Depends what I'm doing. Sometimes once a month or so for $20-30 tip included, or once a week for $20 with tip.

It's hard finding people that can do a good skin fade though.

My hair started thinning 5 years ago. I embraced reality and have been shaving it since. I forget what it's like to go into a hair cuttery. I save a ton on shampoo, hair care products and cost of a trim, not to mention the time saved.

Before my hair turned to brown smoke, the lady that cut my hair charged $15 for trim, scalp massage, neck rub and eyebrow trim. I went every two weeks and gave her $20.
