I told a good friend of mine about ordering a car and he told me that he felt that BMW drivers were typically assholes. i tend to see a rudeness that occurs by many driving anything expensive. I was in line trying to get to an off ramp. An Xsomething drove on the shoulder passing everyone that was waiting. I saw an X3 turn left on red. It wasn't a case of sitting in the middle of the intersection and turning when the cross traffic stopped. This was just blatant impatient law breaking. I often see luxury cars parked across two spaces or cockeyed barring anyone from using the space adjacent. There seems to be a sense of entitlement that some luxury car drivers exhibit.

I know I will do my best to be courteous and will most likely park far away from others between the lines. I am sure I will experience an occasional glance that smells of envious hatred. Oh well!

See, this is what's called a lose-lose situation. If you retaliate or escalate an already bad situation, no one's going to come out unscathed, regardless of who has the moral high ground. I've been in plenty of bar fights where I thought I was doing the right thing or just standing up for myself. Only now, when I finally have some years under my belt, do I realize that I was pretty lucky to not end up hurt or in jail.

Little things like some random, nameless mofo giving me the finger for no reason just don't make my blood boil like they used to. I'll leave it to hotheads like you to give them what's coming to them.

I forgot to mention that receiving fingers and other nasty hand/ facial gestures from other drivers are considered "compassionate" by most drivers here in LA.

We are used to dodging bullets from other drivers on the road ...So be thankful for just getting flipped off

Move to Texas, get a concealed-carry permit, and use assholes like him for target practice - I have no tolerance for pieces of shit like that guy. We have a shitload of Ford/Dodge Ram-driving, ignorant rednecks in Texas (why do dipshits almost always choose to drive Fords or Dodges?). They're easy to spot - many of them have a Texas A&M or OU sticker on the back of their vehicle but obviously have never been to high school, much less college. That decal is located next to the "W04" sticker, because they're the kind of moronic suckers who like to vote against their own financial self-interest. These days, these boobs like to put testicles on the back of their trucks, to compensate for the lack of any real balls whatsoever, literal or figurative, in their physical being. In more rural areas, they'll have some sort of confederate flag white-trash BS on their ride, but in metro areas they're way too chickenshit to be that brazen. The black dudes will whip the living shit out of them.

Not all rural country-type folk are rednecks, at least not in my opinion. There are a lot of really decent, cool, down-to-Earth "country" folks. To me "redneck" refers to an attitude, a choice one makes to be as ignorant, white-trash, and racist as humanly possible. Not all people who drive trucks are rednecks - I drive one (a GMC), although I have a $250K education and hail from the West Coast, where inbreeding is less prevalent. True, there are so many Redneck McDipshit types driving pickups though that it's kind of embarrassing to have one sometimes.

I drive just as fast in my truck as I do in my BMW, and I NEVER get the finger or the flashing lights in the truck. It's definitely something to do with the car. BMWs are the cars that the haters love to hate, along with most Porsches. Take consolation in the fact that haters are never winners.

The only drivers here who are worse than these douchebags are the females in X5's, LX470's, and 'Sclades who have the obligatory cellphone glued to their ear because they're too dumb to figure out the Bluetooth. You can spot them by cluing in to the Jesus fish emblem on the back proudly displayed next to the various decals touting their idiot kids' accomplishments in gymnastics, band, basketweaving, softball, etc. They'll nonchalantly veer into your lane, and when you honk at them, they'll flip you off for having the nerve to interrupt their conversation. These types are particularly prevalent in HP and Plano.

I'm not perfect, far from it but I think that retaliation is the worst way to deal with this sort of situation and solves nothing. Be the better man and ignore the guy who did this rather than stoop to their level.

Mike, I disagree. If nobody confronts that asshole, then he'll keep on doing it. He just needs to have his ass kicked real good once or twice, and then he'll keep his thoughts to himself next time a bimmer breezes by.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree. Most likely in this scenario the guy will just get meaner and meaner. If you don't address the cause of the anger it will not go away. And the cause is not a dislike of BMW's.

And the redneck douchbag driving a hemi pickup tail gaiting everyone in sight is not reserved for texas either. We have them in the northeast too.

Our BMW's seem to enrage them like taking a bat to a hornet's nest, but they are equal opportunity ass-wipes. Any other driver will do just fine.
