This thing is so ugly I would be tempted to roll it into a river to spare people from seeing it. As said, Sonata rear is just plain generic. Headlights are executed horribly. It looks like they were supposed to be one piece but were severed. The doors look like they were pulled off the C class and do not work proportionately. For me, the worst aspect is the chopped roof. It starts off squared and then sweeps back in a diagonal instead of flowing smoothly, reminding me of something like this:

or this

or possibly these

Overall I'm hoping (and believing) that the real thing is going to look like this as far as the details go. I do understand that this is the basic idea, though, and if this is the way it goes, Merc can kiss their loyal customers goodbye.

The fender flares in the rear look really, really awkward. The split head lights look absolutely terrible. The front end looks very sporty, yet the grill looks like it came straight off a luxury cruiser and doesn't fit. Overall a very disjointed design imo

*speechless*

OK maybe not...

WHAT THE F**K WERE THEY THINKING??? They did so well with the new S-Class... then did an equally awesome job for the new C-Class. Then this happens. Damn, this E-Class is an epic MINGER!

I can't wait to see how low their sales of this E will be...

to all you crooners out there ... you curse a design when its first revealed (spy shots or renderings), but once you see it in the flesh, you swoon. Wait for it in the flesh before you make a blanket statement as this. I guarantee your feelings will sober down.

I'm glad you said that. I attached a picture below to reaffirm that statement which I thought right away as we have a Lincoln MKZ in the family.

I'm really on the fence with Mercedes' new design cues. I like the aggresive lines but at the same time it's a bit over the top, and I feel that some of the lines work against each other. The big killer for me is the "Bangle Butt" hood. Why the need for such a giant crease?

W211 body is really smooth flows nicely. This one is more boxy and looks like a lincoln/camry, Merc EPICALLY failed with this one.

is it just me or is mercedes copying lexus now? the new S class looks a lot like a LS from the front and this new E class looks a lot like a GS from the front. Didn't lexus used to copy the germans, not the other way around?
