Awesome! I will keep an eye out - basically twins but from different mothers in terms of color scheme haha

How do you like the reign compared to the enduro? I haven't researched bikes in years. I was hot and cold about riding for a while because "life".

Love it. With the newest changes, the Reign pedals and climbs really well. Blows the Enduro away. It's a much more nimble bike. A friend rode it a few times and PR'd Whiting up to Mustard, and 3rd best time coming down the Luge. The OEM Giant wheels aren't that good though. The 200mm rear rotor rubs on hard, steep climbs when cranking down or sharp turns. I pulled it off and running a 160mm temporarily. I sold the Enduro a few weeks ago.

Now need to find some good wheels with decent hubs.

The mountain lion at the bottom of whiting probably made him push a little harder!

you think 27.5 bikes will slowly go extinct with how all these 29s are performing so well with the new geometry?

Yeah man, Whiting was closed last month too.

No way 27.5 goes away. Yes, there are some new long travel 29ers on the market, but 27.5 still has its place.

I nearly pulled the trigger on a Nomad, but with decent wheels and groupset, they are so damn expensive.

Yea - my build today is over $2k than when I got it a few years ago! for a stupid mountain bike. I need to get back into moto or something.

I can't believe bikes are so pricey. I did some basic maintenance on my bike and it was $400! I can buy a walmart bike for that haha

Masterzapper! That trail looks awesome! All that greenery is scaring my if you guys have any of the poisonous plants haha

Reminds me of riding up north in the redwoods!

Garage List
Did a 20 miler with my wife today in central Indiana. Warmer than I prefer, I don't tolerate heat well. Our Cannondales have served us well, they are solid middle-of-the-road (hahahaha) bikes. We do 98% pavement, 2% gravel and everything else.

Very interesting, hadn't heard of this trail system. I ride DuPont every week but may have to venture up to Cherokee!

I think it's worth a trip. That specific trail has a lot of hard packed dirt (with very little stumps or rocks) so it's really easy to carry your speed throughout the downhill.

I might be heading down that way in early August. Would be cool to get a photo of our cars together! I'll let you know.

dcpatters Ouch! How long did you know that you needed surgery?

Have they talked about recovery time?

What do you feel is a cause? I hear low cadence grinding isn't good for the knees. I sometimes think I need to get rid of my 34t front sprocket.

I was dead-lifting in mid-June. Once I started working sets, my leg snapped and then buckled. I knew something was wrong. MRI revealed 3 bone fragments and torn meniscus of the right knee. One of the fragments was the size of a marble. Lodged under the patella.

Recovery is ~6 weeks. I was active duty in the Marine Corps, my knees have some miles on them.

I run a 34T on my Levo, but Reign, I run a 28T with 170 cranks. Feels better for my knee.

Due to swelling, my knee was drained yesterday.

My wife's training for the HooDoo 300 in August.

She took this on one of her *early* morning training rides in Denver.

Rode Fire Mountain in Cherokee, NC again. They have made a lot of improvements to that trail system. Would highly recommend it to anyone in the NC area.
