We've located the impass to our arguments. It's all based on your opinion. So basically if the CTS-V looked good to you, it'd be worth the purchase. Right?

Well see that's basically like asking someone, "If Rosie O' Donnell looked good to you, would you date her?"

There are certain truths about design that you can't just play off to "personal opinion." You might be able to for a certain fraction of the population, but in general, there is a certain "truth" in appeal.

I think the CTS-V looks good. I think the plain ol' CTS looks even better. But hey, that's why we have opinions, and it's also why the matter is subjective. Catch my drift?

And can you call a sub-8 minute nurburgring lap time a wannabee anything? The car wants to be a monster and it succeeds triumphantly. And at a damn good price too.

p.s. I never suggested that your car cost $50k. I do know that mine did though ($49k actually, but what's $1k amongst friends?). And that's without nav & an auto tranny. And this is the case with a majority of the members here.

A slightly used Z06 is cheaper and would run circles around it.

If you're going to buy a car for performance, buy a car that is 100% focused into it. If you're buying for utility, that can be had for way under $60,000. Plenty of cars have decent power, room, and comfort in the $25,000-$35,000. These $60,000-$100,000 500hp "sports sedans" seem like a waste of money to me, and are pretty ugly. With your mind set - I'm not really sure why you're even posting replies on this thread. If these vehicles are a waste to you, why even waste your time writing YOUR opinion and how everyone else's is wrong?

Oh, I never said anything about "racing around with four people in the car." I go to the track when I want to race.
