It's more of dealing with people at this point who get advice from their FB friends. And I hate the sound of the suction and drill.

I've started a practice to treat sleep related breathing disorders and it's much more enjoyable, and the people already know they have OSA.

I don't wear my work clothes outside of my office. The disgusting crap that gets on my scrub shirt and pants I don't want in my car. But yeah, I do wear surgical loupes when I work. Kind of useless to wear them anywhere else though.
I see alot of doctor or premed young people. They wear their stuff everywhere like its swag

I did 23 years at my dad's mom-and-pop TV store. I started out as the janitor and worked my way up through the ranks, eventually becoming half owner and general manager. I mostly liked the job because of the wide variety of tasks.

I sold the store after 23 years and landed an interim job while I waited for the right job opening at our local university (electronics technician). It took 90 days. Even though it was only for 90 days, the interim job just about drove me bat-shit crazy. Why? Because all I did was troubleshoot dozens of the exact same model power supply all day. I was bored out of my skull!

I did 21 years at the university and I loved my job. Why? I got to work with a wide variety of equipment including computers, network equipment, TV's, audio equipment, projectors and so on. This required recurrent training and new training. I loved the challenges.

16 years later it is easy to see it clearly, but as a young man you just think you're getting cold feet. But my stomach was right, played out basically as I felt it would.

I had a baby very young. I’m glad that when I’m 40, I won’t be changing diapers, needing a baby sitter, etc. I’ll still be young enough to enjoy myself and my child old enough to be self sufficient (almost).

Do you make appliances for OSA? And if so could I get a discount?

THE GYNECOLOGIST WHO BECAME A MECHANIC

A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork, and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic.

He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time of the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill. When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the Instructor, saying, “I don’t want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?”

The instructor said, “During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark.” After a pause, the instructor added, “I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I’ve never seen done in my entire career”.

I sometimes pick bone and old silver mercury filling material out of my hair, there is no way I'm wearing my contaminated clothes out in public. I love it when I see doctors out to dinner wearing their scrubs. Get a life.

I also don't want people asking me questions, or looking at me and thinking i think I'm special wearing my scrubs. You get to a point in the medical profession where you'd rather be delivering mail than dealing with the idiots in your office.

25 and 26 for me, but not sure I put them as Regret/Success. Like you I got out with no kids or alimony. But I still say hello to my ex if I see her around.

I learned a lot about myself, my faith, and just how long/hard a man-boy can cry. I learned to take care of myself, including laundry, cooking, and going to work like a responsible adult.

Successes - Listened to my father enough to stuff $ away at every opportunity, kept the wrapper on at all times to avoid and dependents before I was mature enough to handle it, and soaked up every ounce of knowledge "old timers" were willing to share with me.

Regrets - wish I would have realized my own self-worth sooner. I was probably close to 30 when I fully realized all those people I looked up to and idolized professionally were pretty much making it up as they went along just like me and were scared they were Fing it all up just like me. Once I realized that the only real difference between the "climbers" and the "sitters" was the stones to make a decision and the brains to fix it when you made the wrong one - my life got much easier.

That is great. And my signature line is right up your alley.

I constantly learn how to integrate the newest technology and treatment modalities available. That is why I learned the importance of airway management. I've been very successful with my treatment because of the newest ultrasound/sonar equipment that I bought. I was the first clinician to use it, and now there is a second doctor who uses it.
