If you ignore the fact Panels will not provide all the power you need in 20 to 25 yrs based on the current technologies, and you still want to go solar and not rely on the grid, this house has done what is required, Notice the batteries needed at 5min in, those are lead gel acid batteries not Lithium, those are the same battery use in telecommunication centers for phone and cell services. Those batteries last later longer and can be recycled unlike Lithium ones

I saw an interesting video over the weekend of the guy showing his solar panels on his overland van. He said it was a 240w setup, that after losses should give him 180-185w under sunny conditions.
He said the panels were dirty so going to clean them, from the camera they didn't look THAT dirty. Only giving him 125w. He thoroughly cleans them, he gets 181w. So if you have 15' tall super sloped pitch roof, now I have to get up to clean them every so often to even get more than 50%? |
