U don't need to install any OS to use internet, as for the latter question i don't know...people have used linux and xp on the PS3 i think but im not sure what they can do with that...i like browsing with the big TV...looks insane,

I think this thread just sured up my decision. . .

What did you end up paying for the PS3 + whatever games you initially bought. . .were there any deals going on at the time?

And you've got your Keyboard + Mouse hooked up to your PS3 cruising the motherfunking internet. . .so L33T.

399 for the 80 gig version, then another 100 bucks for the 500 gig HD upgrade...8 bucks for HDMI Cable, 1400 for the 52" LCD and little here and there..

You've just missed it, sonystyle had a 150 credit rebate if you apply for their card and get approved and buy a Ps3.

And it pulls the wi-fi signal in or are you rocking the ethernet cord?

Yeah im using wireless from my router at home...it's decently fast, not super fast but decent enough

Nice LCD, what cables are you using to connect from PC to TV? I've seen that done with a plasma but the color doesnt look as good as yours.

I got some cheap ones from new egg for 7 bucks...i tested it against Monster cables that i bought from best buy with every intention to return while i wait...and i really can't tell the difference between 7 dollar HDMI cables and 90 dollar Monster Cables...


Cables are cables, all the same...im very happy with the way it looks

spool...

get TVersity. you can use that stream media to your PS3. i use my desktop as a server and just stream movies, music, pictures to my ps3 via wifi from a pc. pretty simple and works great. you can stream mkv too...

seriously? How is the quality, and MKV files are large, will it be glitchy when you stream it to the PS3? Is this the same as Slingbox?

Sorry to but does anyone have a PS3 connected to an Apple Airport Extreme network with WEP? I cant get the damn PS3 to connect to it. Im seriously about to go buy a lynksis router
