Stock vs stock your gona lose. The slk has all that power plus a 7 speed tranny which always manages to find the sweet spot of that engine(which is most of the rev range like our cars)

I used to own a C55, same engine but 5 speed auto instead. Raced a few 335s that were stock and pulled about 2 car lengths.

Put a jb3 in your car and you'll be pulling

Another thing that most people don't know is that AMG was an external tuner
aqquired by mercedes in the 1980's and I believe the MB owned a most of AMG by the 90's. Before that they were just another brabus or lorinser but for race engines. Very different history than the m division

Great little photo history

Meh... I'm not too sure about the SLK55 but the C63 AMG is way harder to drive than a E92 M3, it has too much power in the rear and the weight distribution isnt as good as the M3.. Its a "wild" beast.

Not exactly buddy. If i may go forward with your logic, A tuned 335 will eat a stock M3 like me eating a $1 Mcdouble(and that includes eating slk55's.

And how exactly do you know what your talking about as far as handling. Show me some numbers where the "SLK55 has way better handling than 335's"

By the way, the FASTEST slk55 on drag times is a k8, meaning they sent the car to kleeman and it got a supercharger installed and many other things, Over 20k to do the package, Best time was a 11.75 at 119. The fastest 335 is just a hair behind that.

I've driven both, 335's handling is far worse than SLK55's, its something called EXPERIENCE. And for your tuned 335, Have fun with that. Id choose an m3 over a tuned 335 anyday. Hence i bought an m3 . One thing thats clear is M3 owners had a CHOICE to not buy a 335. Mainly because we like the fact BMW puts a clear difference between M's and just another regular Bimmer .

BTW, Please learn to read, the Thread is talking about Stock VS stock. Therefore, let me repeat my self, An SLK55 will eat a 335 like i eat $1 Mcdoubles

And if you want to talk about how fast Tuner cars are, i can easily get a 350z and make it push 1000hp. Which can eat your 335 and even your family =)

Usually I dont reply to threads like this as I consider this as chilish banter... but my own personal experience... I got owned...

an old guy with his wife in a black SLK55... at a stop light.. those things are quick and the 7 speed is effective... also make sure your tranny and engine are warm enough.. a cold tranny = FAIL.. he will smoke you bad

Don't have any slalom numbers, but the SLK55 weighs about 150-200lbs less, and has more power so it should handle better. It takes longer to stop though.

Not from my experience. I've driven my mom's car very hard and I feel like the reviewers exaggerate the "uncontrollable" behavior. Maybe I haven't driven an M3 hard enough to compare, but in comparison to my 335i, it's just as good if not better.
