Back to the way past machine on the exterior design language. Pretty much turned off by the overall normal ricer shape. Reminds me of an older Honda 4 door from 2006.
Imagine this is how all the bmw dramatic designs end at… imagine the m version of this bulky mass! It’s like bmw is trying extra hard to be Tesla yet with a very challenged design team 😂 Not the ultimate driving machine at all! Bmw please stick to your dramatic design language or make these exciting to look at this is boring visually. |

Exterior has great BMW DNA, like it.
Spartan spacecraft interior, don’t like it. |

I was about to write something not-so-positive but my daughter looked at my phone and saw these photos and is completely enamored with the car lol! Saying, “This is going to be my car when I’m a grown up. I promise.”
Frankly, BMW must be doing something right because the car is certainly more made for her future generation of car buyers than it is mine.

I find the Neue Klasse a generally vague design, but i don't hate it.. I see a little bit of BMW 2002, a little bit of old Italian, and a bunch of old Japanese (like the Nissan IDX retro concept, which I really liked - especially the NISMO version):
Maybe that vagueness was the goal, a basic blank slate design to work from for various model variations that doesn't generate visceral reactions from anyone. BMW is swinging the pendulum completely to opposite side of the recent massively polarizing/hard love/hate reactions of the XM, new 7, new grille, etc. I'd take this direction over the IX all day every day. |

More worried about that model 3 interior than any exterior elements iirc this is supposed to influence 6 models within 2 years… spooky

I don't absolutely hate it (which is unfortunately the biggest compliment I can muster for BMW's current design direction...)

Looks like an amalgamation of several cars and concepts. Does not strike me as a BMW. Then again, no BMW design of late does. I have been driving BMWs since my first car, an E30 M3, and never been discouraged to look forward for a new BMW model!
