Good idea!! The torque is amazing!!!

Very nice and nicely equipped, even though no premium pkg and it lacks HK stereo. I don’t care for the double humped dash, so I don’t mind no iDrive. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

Outside of DDing all three of your cars, this one gets a thumbs up from me!

Really? I had a ‘10 e60 528i as my first car. I test drove an e90 M3 and found the comfort level awful.
My mistake was testing down. Even my current 440i isn’t great in terms of comfort.

When our office was moved 20 miles down the road one of my co-workers bought a cash VW GTi to serve daily driving and he's had it now 10 years. He said he enjoys the GTi but when I see his Audi S4 in his parking spot I know it's a special day for him.

That said the GTi has been towed off the lot at least once during that time which I'm sure was a PIA.

Apparently I just got told off making a statement in a similar vein.

I understand your only responding to mine

I guess talking about "territory of the US" comes under that general heading.
Be interesting if the poster who told me off will equally feel equally angry and rush to tell you off as well...

and as it hasn't happened already I'm betting that its "selective" which would make a ton of sense.

The OP is thinking of moving to the US, in this climate its not acceptable for a Canadian to do so, no-one would have thought, in a million years the kinda garbage we here spouting and it is garbage.

So its NOT a stretch of the imagination to think that the car insurance reciprocal agreement could be overturned

And THATS the point of this conversation,

Work wise, tax wise and every other way, its not worth it, Canadians enjoy free health care, not in the US.

And if you are going to clean house single handedly, be sure to address everyone's comment and not single anyone out. BTW Eggs at Loblaws is $3.99 and in plentiful supply.

I gave good and valid reasons , auto wise and econmically wise, why the OP is making a bad move

Your posts have always been incredibly difficult to follow with scattered thoughts, grammar, and a scorch-the-Earth tone. Thus, the context of your political comments were not made in jest, they were made with seriousness and anger (whether correct or not is irrelevant). My comment was an obvious joke with an LOL and a Star Trek meme. Do you seriously not understand the difference?

Agree and exactly what I posted earlier. OP, something else to consider is the Florida sun and heat is oppressive and awful for cars. Many BMWs have noticed significant premature aging of leather, interior trim, delamination of the dashboard and other trim, clear coat damage, other cosmetic issues, and premature wear and tear of all mechanical components, including engine components.

Definitely consider that if your cars are going to be sitting outside. Everyone thinks that Southern, like Florida, owned cars are great to buy second hand. It's the exact opposite. I've seen heat related problems affect cars that are only 2 years old.

You’re right. The F83 M3 I Turo’d in Florida last month literally had the plastic melting on its door handles. Apparantly a known issue in the sense that the door handles were particularly conducive to have this happen. Aww hope that doesn’t happen to my M3 Door and rear window shades up!!!

Another victim of that sun that I have noticed is rubber. All the rubber around the windows and such deteriorates fast, gets all cracked and dried out.

Also, if you live close to the ocean, it will rust! Cause salt is in the air there.

Feel free to put me on Ignore, just as I am doing with you.

The world has definitely changed. For the first 17 years I was on this forum my ignore list had maybe ten people on it. In the last two years it has grown to over 35. Virtually all of the additions have joined the forum since 2022.

LOL

Not trying to unsettle anyone. I would think that an application of silicon spray a few times a year would help with that. The cars that I see this with, I suspect were parked outside mainly.

It sounds like you are going into this with eyes wide open and running the numbers appropriately.

Gummi pflege works wonders. None of our outside cars have cracked out rubber or seals or anything, but as with anything there's a big difference between a car that's cared for and one that's not.

303 also has an anti UV spray on product that works great.

Thanks, was wondering if that would do it. I have some at home, I’ll pack it with me and buy some more. I’ll gummi my rubber really good.

What you will soon find out driving a 10+ y/o BMW in the FL heat, humidity, and extreme UV is total degradation of the interior. The painted plastic interior panels will start to delaminate the paint. The upper portions of the door panels will get sticky and then start to degrade. Plastics, leather, and fabrics exposed to UV and heat will fade.

If you haven't done so already, I would tint every car you plan to take with a high quality UV blocking tint. It doesn't necessarily have to be very dark, but it should be the premium stuff with max UV protection. That along with a sun shade will go a long way. If you have a garage, USE IT. If there is shade somewhere when parking outside, FIND IT.

Rubber seals will also take some beating but that's easier to manage.

If the M3 hasn't had the typical cooling system issues, it will within 6 months of living there.
