I had a new 2003 tiburon GT while i was in college and it was sweet. i put 69,000 miles on it in 32 months, autoX'ed the crap out of it and modded it with most standard bolt ons.
in the past their 2.0 motors are based off the 4g63 and actually some of their older accents actually had NA 4g63 motors in them. |

Yes the 2.0t would leave you to do alot of mods! I saw a beautiful looking silver one the other day. Dont worry about image too much. Most people cant even afford a brand new car! On the other note, some people happen to truly not care about image. Sorry about the large pics below. Check the license plate frame

FYI OP:
I heard an ad on the radio yesterday for a local Hyundai dealership here in D/FW. $4500 off all Genesis coupes. $8000 sedans.

Personally I would recomend you stay out of the car payment game until you've finished school and paid off your student loans (if any).
Yeah, you can do it, but you're gonna be looking at a $400-450/mo payment if you're like most people who finance for 60 or 72 months with nothing down. Then of course the insurance will be killer on a car like that for someone your age. Drive a beater with liability only and you'll be a goddamn tycoon by comparison. I didnt do this either, but now I wish I would have. God I'd have so much more money than I do now, and money is the only thing that matters when you're a big boy...seriously, I'd have like $100,000 more liquid cash money sitting in the bank if I'd gotten rid of all the car payments and insurance I shouldnt have been paying when I was between 18 and 28 (now). Your car just becomes incidental bs when you really figure out what's up. |

Yeah, take heed of Brandon's advice. When you're young and getting started, every dollar is worth that much more because it snowballs over the years. Sure you can spend a bit here and there on things that'll make you happier and such but a nice car is prob not very high on the happiness per dollar chart.
You can google alain de botton's epicurus video for a nice reminder on how advertisers fck with our heads and buying things is not #1.

I can understand everyone's points, but seriously I am growing all too tired of:
Being pulled over (for nothing HONESTLY) Driving a car that is on the top 10 most stolen list Having no torque Mechanical problems To top is all off I can't seem to keep my car clean!! Here's a picture of her 159k miles and still looks decent kind of! ![]() |

I have a black 08 350Z and the cops love pulling me over lately for lame reasons too, and I'm about a decade older than you are, so I dunno if a Genesis Coupe will help you much there.
Yeah I can understand wanting rid of that car specifically for some of those reasons, but thats not great justification for jumping into a $25k loan at your age and position. $5-6k cash you could get something better that isnt such a cop and thief magnet. |
