As for the red light cameras, I have a solution: no plates!
Think about it (especially you guys w/ LCI's and e92's), if you have a new looking car/newer model car, you won't get pulled over JUST for plates.

and did I mention there is a ticket for "GOING TOO SLOW" on city streets. Yeah, apparently, there is one. It is meant to divert those "cruisers" from cities such as Pasadena. Also, Pasadena made it as a law for you not to drive twice on Colorado Blvd. during peak hours such as Friday nights and Saturday nights. The place looks so deserted, and businesses are loosing customers from that.
Well, the red light traffic ticket taken with a camera; yours truly got one. Sent me a photo to my house with a smily face . I should have autographed that sucker and charged them $375. The yellow to red didn't stay on for 4 seconds. I know that because in the blink of an eye, it turned red. I should have come back and counted it; but little did I know after the fact that it is supposed to stay on for 4 seconds. All through all, like I always say, don't give them any excuses to hand you one of those tickets. BTW for those who complain about their registration, I remember owning my 95 E36 M3. I purchased it used; thus in 97, my first registration was due in the amount of 616 dollars. I still remember it. I cried when I saw that. So lease up! |

Actually Virginia repealed the laws because they wrote them so they were only applicable to Virginia residents. The laws were deemed unconstitutional based on “equal protection under the law". if you lived in Virgina, based one the fine, you could end up paying a fine every year for 3 years. It was fucked up.

I literally paid over $600 for my registration last time. Not even a month later, I moved back to Illinois. I called up California to ask if I could get a pro-rated reimbursement for the unused amount and they said it doesn't matter if it was 1 day or 364, its the same price. Or maybe this will help put it into perspective. I quit my job in California to move back to Illinois because my wife got a great job offer here in Chicago. I had a great job and was making killer money, but at the time we thought the move would be better for us (we're originally from here, etc, etc). I ended up taking another job a couple months after I moved at a 20% cut in gross pay. By the time all the math was done and I had recalculated my state withholdings, etc, etc... the difference in my (not including my wife's) monthly net income was only -$400.00. True story. The best part is that this is before I take into account the fact that EVERYTHING is less expensive here. So that's how I know that California is f'd. I took a giant pay-cut, but ended up getting a raise... |

CA is a joke, and will never get out of debt no matter how high taxes and what not get. I wouldn't blame the governor. You guys have people like Nancy Pelosi to thank for that BS. Good luck...
