I just got back from seeing it; I completely agree. It was nice seeing a Bond who was believable in a fight. My biggest gripe, was that the film dragged in places. There was maybe 30 minutes that could have been cut out, without changing the film.

The part I found just too hilarious (in a bad way) were the overly drawn out displays of affection and the build up of the "romance". But I did like the way Daniel Craig played Bond. It is very reminscent of the way Christian Bale reinvigorated the Batman franchise. Batman Begins and Casino Royale are eerily similar in that respect; they both literally and figuratively redefine their respective characters.
