What is so special about driving a BMW in the U.S.? As long as you have a regular full-time job, you could afford one. Frankly, unless you drive an exotic, there is really nothing you could flaunt about.

My g/f met me in the office on Thu. and several of my officemates asked her what she thought of the new BMW. She later asked me if they thought she was with me due to the BMW. At least they do know she was with me pre-BMW. I suppose if we believe in the ends justify the means theory, who cares how we got a gorgeous g/f, right? BMW or no BMW. |

I think everyone who's arrogant or who thinks they are better than everyone else should go see "Pursuit of Happiness" It'll bring you back down to earth. True story and puts everything in perspective.
I bought a bmw because i love cars, plain and simple. The performance, the handling..etc. I just bought mine and I don't like telling people what I have. I'm just a humble person, and have never been the flashy type. When i see people talk about what they have or when they think they're better than someone else, I feel sorry for them. There is ALWAYS someone better than you, and you just need to be humble about it. When people ask me what I drive, i just say a 3 series. No year, model..etc. I can see why girls like guys in bimmers. It's a status car in some ways. In the Bay Area, everyone and their momma has a bmw, lexus or audi. It really isn't a big deal. Even more so in LA. BMW = Be My Wife |

I don't flash my BMW key or typically wear BMW gear (I have a couple caps and T's) but I understand the point of the original OP. If he chooses to act that way about his car, it's his business.
What I don't understand is why some BMW drivers tend to care so much about what others (strangers) think of them. If someone asks me what I drive and I reply "a Bimmer" and they assume I'm a jerk or snob or whatever, honestly I couldn't care less. Guys just drive your Bimmers and be happy! ![]()

![]() With that said, I wear my leather BMW race jacket and pants when I go out. The other day I was at McDonalds and I know the girl standing in line behind me was checking me out. She must've seen the key fob tethered around my neck on my BMW keychain. She only ordered a #2 and couldn't afford a supersize so I didn't holla at her. (Just kidding, I'm very humble about my car.) |
