But seriously I've always wondered if pick up lines actually work as I've never tried it. I assume that some women find it funny or as an ice breaker (if it's clever) but for the most part they don't work.

Personally I agree that the best line is just simply "hi". If she says HI back you're half way there.

Although on this subject the other day a girl was standing next to me at a bus stop for a while and I was getting on my bus I said youre a really pretty person in passing.

She yelled "Creeper!" and followed me onto the bus and hit me and walked off.

yeah the complimenting method doesnt always work...

lol I kid. But yes some can be bitches. I believe most girls are pretty down to earth though (at least the ones I've met). It's just some of them have a defense mechanism that makes them seem stuck up.
