Threads like this are why I'm sometimes embarrassed to be a BMW driver

Let me clear up this thread. And no, i'm not doing it just because I drive a G35, I drive a 540 also.
It's not because they couldnt get the cash to buy a 330. I'm sure almost everyone who bought a G35 cross-shopped with many other cars. Lexus, BMW, but probably mainly BMW, because its infinitis main competitor. And I think people who can afford a 40k loaded G35 can afford a 42K loaded 330, and probably even a 335i too. And to R3amir, g35 drivers arent in your class? You have a 325! I'm not complaining, I love all 3 series, but why would you say someone with a car thats around the same price or probably even more isnt in your class? And Infiniti drivers arent jealous of BMW drivers, they bought their car because they wanted it, not because it was "the only thing they could afford" according to most of the people on here. My 540 was 60k when I bought it new, and my G35 was around 37k, and many people on G35 forums have other cars way over the price of a 3 series. I didnt buy the G35 because it was what I could afford, I bought it because I thought it had all the benefits of the Bimmer, give or take some, but with a cheaper price also. It's immature how everyone here thinks every other driver is jealous of their car. BMW's are a dime a dozen now anyways. |

However, one thing that would turn me away from the g35 (or any Japanese car) is the can-like sound of the frame. Seems so thin, and I am sure they imprved the handling, but still not there...maybe on the 2024 model they will cath up. Other than that, still G35 is probably the best deal for the money. Enjoy it. |

I love G35 owners; if it weren't for them BMW wouldn't have to make big improvements to their line... for example Intel didn't have to improve their cpu's until AMD rolled into the market.

Almost 3k on the odo and no one has tried to race me??
Not that I would submit to their immaturity anyway! The new G35 is very nice, much improvement over the previous gen. While fast and handles well, it didn't feel as polished as the BMW. Would be nice to have a more updated interior in the BMW, but the quality & fit/finish of the E90 is superb. Yes, I do love my NAV and the position of the idrive controller. Backattack, you are right, if it weren't for the IS & G, we wouldn't have a stock 335 w/ 270ish to the wheels and ~4.8 0-60, low 13's 1/4 mile :-) Not counting the XEDE ECU !! Competition amongst auto-makers is a wonderful thing for us buyers!
