For those with tall torsos, the Lexus line up (not just 350) seems too small. The 3-series, with their compulsory moonroofs are tight in headroom, but slightly better. I prefered the 3 series overall, anyway, at least until my warranty expires, but the cramped interior of the Lexus was a deal breaker.

no, IS can't take the 335 neither. the best ET I heard from IS350 is 13.5 which is for very well driver with a little weight reduction, but average is 14s. This info is from my.is forum. but I couldn't find the link to that thread since its too old. I don't think 335s are 14s cars. but time will tell. IS350 would be my car if 335 doesn't exist. I did some homework for both cars before i bought my 335. Remember: Inline-6+twin turbo>V6.

This will never end.
Pepsi or Coke? 3 or IS? I would have bought 335i in a heart beat if it was on sale a year ago when I bought my IS. different stroke for different folks, i guess. I honestly think both are fine cars and you cant go wrong with either way. But saying IS350 is a crap is a bit too much. But then again, it's your opinion and you are entitled to your own. Have fun seeing the tail lights of IS350 in your 328i. |

second of all the m3 is better than your car in every aspect. looks included. even most lexus owners will admit this. even if you win in a straight line like a tool on public roads... go to a road course, lets see who wins by a lap or two. p.s. the 335i is already faster than your car (in every aspect, not just straight line), imagine what the e92 m3 will do to it. |

Have you guys seen the back of that car? The mufflers are so visable, and the rear is square as can be. Quite ugly in my opinion.

Typical
As an owner of the IS350 I can say that the car is not crap....in fact I chose it over many BMW's...I found BMW to be less bang for the buck and boring...I mean you would have to get an M5 before things started to get interesting. I'm not saying BMW is not a nice car but it is truly nothing special. A friend of mine just bought a 330xi 6 speed and the price tag was no less than my 350 and his car came with imitation leather?? WTF??....the dashboard looks like something you would find on a school bus (flat and straight) the steering wheel had mounted conrols for a bluetooth telephone but the "rest" of the equipment had be purchased by the dealer???? The car has less horse power and torque, slower 0-60 time, and poorer handling. Not to mention my car came loaded with Navigation, air conditioned seats, upgraded leather, 6 speed paddle shift trans, well you get the point...I get being proud of what you drive hence this response but these forums should be used to promote the attributes of vehicles not make pot shots out of jealousy...BMW makes great cars...so does Lexus...Thats all I"m saying.

Woah, talk about waking up an old post!
I somewhat agree with your assessment, Nate. Back home in Seoul, my sis-in-law drives an is250 and I drove it pretty frequently. I must say, Lexus did their homework with this car! Great interior, great fit and finish, good quality of materials...not to mention options that are not available on comparably priced competitors (rear backup camera, cooled seats, a PROPERLY working voice activated nav, etc). My only gripe was the somewhat inorganic steering. Other than that, I can definitely say I'd choose this car over a base 3 series. Just curious, did you google "forums bashing Lexus IS" and register and post on each forum you've found? ![]() |
