This Lexus hate will fade, if Toyota does their job well. Some years ago their also was alot of Audi hate, but now Audi is Nr.1, in fornt of BMW and Mercedes (well, almost).

Personally.. I've never associated a lexus with anything other than segment redefining levels of dull-ness.
At least infinity has the balls to call it's car's a competitor with the 3 Series and mean it. At least Acura knows that they're a last place Accord carry-over.. Lexus... I associate that name with middle age women and people that keep their left turn signal on after they've merged. the IS-F was a decent vehicle, but ultimately, a last-place contender, ultimately it was too heavy, the transmission had too many gears and it was simply a 80% project with a 'look at me' body kit. |

This car is my serious contender for my next car. My 335i was my first luxury level vehicle and I miss reliability and piece of mind. I still want luxury and more sport then a Honda accord though. Lexus pretty much fits the bill perfect for someone like me.

Well, generally speaking Lexus tends to attract an older, wealthier crowd (IIRC Lexus owners have the second highest median annual income among the "upper middle class" luxury brands like Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche, etc. (new Porsche owners = highest with a median annual income for 911 owners around $400k/year)) where driving dynamics/exciting body exteriors aren't high priority.
I mean, have you guys ever been to Luby's? It's a chain restaurant geared towards the really old, and their food across the board is utterly bland and tasteless BMW tends to be geared more towards the 25-50 crowd. Mercedes I'd argue is geared towards the older crowd, but the AMG variants draw some younger guys in (although not too young because many of the new AMGs are reasonably expensive). |

Its good to see all my old lexus forum buddies posting in this thread. Just like old times.. We have rum and punch in the back to make thing more warm and fuzzy. So when will this car be in show rooms?

I'd say the normal end of summer release time. Once I heard about the redesign I started looking into lexus and now it's hard for me to not get one now because I'm sure the deals on the 2013 will be nice.

My wife grew up a toyota girl as her dad taught her how to work on them. this IS will probably be her first luxury car as it finally time to get rid of her high school corolla. Lexus are nice and smooth and hopefully this version fuel efficient. Right now though nothing is an all around stud like the 328i. We will see 2014 IS to debut at Detroit auto show.

this thing looks HIDEOUS. Holy crap. The side profile is just passable. The rear profile is passable. The front profile with that big, gaping grill is downright hideous. I thought the GS350 grill looked bad. This is 10x worse |
