Totally forgot about this one but a very good call. I liked the dash so much that I almost bought one... then I came to my senses and didn't.

I think the gauge cluster's purpose is to communicate vital information quickly with a minimum of distractions.
Therefore I think the E9X M3 cluster is a reference for good design. The sliding scale is brilliant Perfect font for legibility, avoids italics like so many other makers Just the right amount of illumination from the rear is very well done and does not distract at night Sliding redline is implemented much more elegantly and less obtrusive than E46 M3 Just the facts. RPM, Speed, Oil, Gas Good design, through and through.

Misread the OP's question and thought this applied strictly to speedo setups.

Pagani. Any and all. Because handmade from carbon fiber and aluminum. Doesn't get more beautiful.
Second goes to Avendator, it's like an LFA but a little more colorful, a little wilder, a bit of a nod to crazy, old Lambos while staying very modern. |

LFA and Aventador. Digital dashes are so cool.
I dislike the Porsche cluster. It's great that the tachometer is in the center but the cascading smaller circles next to it makes everything else look squished and not that easy to read. I don't need 5 circular instruments in front of me. |
