They had an iPhone equipped with a scanner with an app that processed pretty much everything. My old SIM got deactivated on the spot, but my new one worked within about 20 minutes later, after a phone reboot.

hm... im happy i didn't hop on release with the issues people are having.

imho i really think give it take a few months there will be a 4s model with a led flash on the front, higher processor speed, and more memory, but thats just my thought .

Processor is faster than just about anything else out there (I'm not aware of any other smartphone that has a 1GHz CPU), and why a flash on the front, too? An added flash on the front would not look good....and then, there's already 512MB of RAM.

Quite a few smartphones have 1GHz CPUs...Nexus 1, EVO 4G, Droid X will, there may be more..

I like my iPhone 4 for numerous reasons, most of all due to it's solid feel. I'm glad they got rid of the plastic.

Why would they downclock it if they didn't in the iPad? Reasonable assumptions are fair here, but you're right, I don't believe anyone's confirmed 100% that the A4 is at 1GHz.
