The wife is Italian so it’ll be hundreds of dollars of king crab and a half dozen other fish dishes. 30 people will be here in 6 hours so I gotta get crackin’.

Tenderloin is butterflied, cut and just finished 3 herb chimichurri (some reserved with remainder used as marinade). My wife will make potatoes and I supposed some vegetables (whatever). I know my MIL will bring rice and beans they can keep on the other end of the table. Guess I should go shave now.

Like Profet above’s wife, I am also of Italian descent but despise seafood, including fish. So we don’t do that... My wife is from Nicaragua and her family is always up for a good churrasco so that has become our Christmas Eve tradition.

Nope. Usually we cook it in the la cruset Dutch oven, either savory or barbecue rubbed. I have no idea how my mother-in-law's going to cook it tonight. She's made brisket the last 15 years.

Low key Christmas for us, my wife's sister's family came over Christmas Eve.
As usual,
I ask: what should I make?
Her: Something easy
Me: Tri-Tip"
Her: No
Me: Pulled Pork?
Her: No, we always have the same stuff
Me: (...thats not true), Chicken Fajitas?
Her: No
Me: Beef tenderloin, I could make Gyros..not that simple..
Her: Yeah! Gyros! But just make the chicken, nobody likes lamb.
Me: The lamb is my favorite...(Turns out, its my brother-in-laws favorite too now), so you see where I rank...

I didn't bother taking a picture of the tzatziki.

Sopatillas (no idea, the pronunciation I get from the wife keeps changing) These little triangles of dough, mixed with some sort of melted/boiled candied cinnamon, anise, and now orange peel. Dropped in a hot hot pan of oil, with a quarter, much like above.

Low key Christmas to ourselves this year.

Prime rib, saute spinach, baked vanilla pudding with sago and lotus seed paste.

Thinking what to make for the New Year.

Did a bigger roast than we really needed, so we’ll be doing round two with the leftovers tonight.

Nice. Sounds like quite an undertaking. We just finished our filets and working on finishing up the wine.
