Dimmer switches are easy peasy! Just make sure to turn off the power and test for residual before rewiring!

Its good to know people in certain places. I couldnt justify buying it off the truck. Im sure its $700+ but this will be great for SCCA/Track events for tire swaps.

What, - no OLED?

That's a nice TV and the X1 processor is awesome. Based on your prior feedback, I'm assuming you pass through sound to a receiver? If so, please let me know if you experience any issues with Sony's Bravia Sync (CEC control). Mine is somewhat unreliable (passing through to a Samsung HW-Q90R soundbar) but I can't tell yet if it is the TV, the soundbar, or my DISH Hopper...
I have no issues with sound (yet) when playing movies from my Samsung 4K player, which is connected via HDMI in to the TV.

PS: Yes - I ordered a new set of HDMI cables based on the latest standards when I hooked everything up, including from the eARC of the TV into the eARC to the soundbar.

Only thing, I'm learning from my mistakes. While I ditched my E92 for the S4, I won't be leaving the Audi community. Too much invested in this beast to let someone else have it.

6 sleepless nights are coming up. It will be odd logging into F80 vs E90 going forward.
Congrats! Glad you aren't getting rid of the S4. I have a serious car crush on your S4! Loving the white interior of the F!

One of the main reasons I went with the X950H series is because it utilizes Sony's best "X1 Ultimate" processor instead of the older "X1." I've put both through their paces and the better processor definitely does a better job, especially with motion handling I'm especially sensitive to.

As a card-carrying audiophile, I'm definitely NOT using TV speakers. Actually, because I'm stuck watching TV in the bedroom until the new display show up, I brought one of my subwoofers into the bedroom to complement the stereo setup in there. It's bad enough that I'm not using a proper surround system, but I had to at least bring a sub in there.

The whole problem with ARC/eARC is it demands we activate CEC. That's an issue for the automation guys because they don't want CEC commands messing up their programming. Traditionally, I've mostly used external sources instead of smart TV apps, but I'm obviously going to experiment with using the TV as a source with eARC. The big question is my Anthem MRX1120 receiver going to utilize eARC. I'm very pessimistic so I'm likely to keep streaming from my Apple TV into the receiver; and using the X950H just as a display.

As I understand it, eARC simply is capable of passing though higher bandwidth and speed for the very latest audio standards....but I don't think I'm telling you anything you don't know. Is there possibly a firmware update for your Anthem that allows eARC?

My Samsung HW-Q90R now has eARC, thanks to a long delayed firmware update. LOL not sure I really hear any difference between former Dolby ATMOS processing and now Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD streams, etc.

what is everyone using for office chairs these days. Can't find out if these "racecar gaming" chairs are the most comfortable for Work@Home stuff, or if people are enjoying those Mesh chairs with the recline/headrest

Go for ergonomics, not a fad in designs. Our QA guy here has one of the race car style office chairs. He's made comments about it not being all that comfortable.

I got this one not too long ago.

https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chairs/ergonomic-chair

I'm a fan, a lot of adjustability. Still trying to get everything dialed in with it, but definitely more supportive then my last chair!

Absolutely - its funny but now that so many are W@H you see more and more of them on the other side - so I'm always like "they gotta be comfy right??"

I went with a custom 19 from AllSteel myself. But then again I know one of the designers so I got a pretty good discount (still ~$800 before shipping) and worth every penny. Absolutely love it.

The reason you see everyone with them isn't because they are comfy or great, it's because they are cheap. Forgive me for saying this, as this is not the crowd to unleash such a comment to; but it's the same with E90's. You see them everywhere, not because they are mechanically sound, well trusted vehicles; it's because they are cheap to buy and people who know nothing about them get to feel like ballers.

I was going to suggest one very similar to this, but about $200 more. Neue from secretlab - https://secretlab.co/collections/neue

Just last night I was looking at the Anthem firmware updates but I saw nothing about eARC. Honestly I got board and decided I'd just experiment when I have the new display.

How I would potentially use eARC is to stream ATMOS-enabled movies, or perhaps high-res music files from the smart TV apps. In reality, I'll likely just stream movies from my Apple TV into the AVR for movies like I do now. For music I'll definitely keep on utilizing the AVR's built-in PlayFi music streaming. I am just kind of curious if the Anthem's hardware can support eARC. We will see.

ATMOS is actually a major benefit when set up correctly. I call it the biggest advancement in surround technology since we started having discrete surround channels (Dolby Digital). Unfortunately the more complex you build a system, the more complex it is to set up.

Funny, I can't stand those gaming chairs. I don't find them comfortable and they feel cheap. I use a Herman Miller Aeron size C for my gaming setup. I use another Herman Miller size B for my home office. At my remote offices I have either Herman Miller size A or B. These are the best chairs ever made imho and worth the premium.

If you are going to get one I would recommend not cheaping out. Don't skimp by not getting the locking tilt and lumbar options, these are essential. I also like the fully adjustable arms. Specced out they are $1500 but sometimes they show up on Craigslist when a company is liquidating and you can get a good deal.

I had this at one of my offices. Pretty good chair actually. If I didn't have a Herman Miller addiction, I would get this chair.

I actually got my size C for under $600 from Craigslist. These are robust chairs that are built to last, so even used ones tend to be in good condition.

I've had my Aeron for about 10 years now. It's still as good as the first day I got it.

I ordered my Apple Watch 6 with the new Solo Loop band, but I decided I want to try the new Leather Link band for daily use. I'll likely keep the Solo Loop band relegated to wearing during sports.
