That leads me to the one thing on this list that I do not follow. #6! I cannot stand to be late for something. I've always been that way and my passion to be on time has not diminished as I get older. It must be my Swiss heritage.

When my kids were growing up, i used to tell them, "if you want to be in the Top 10%, just show up on time."

I'd love to ease up on this unnecessary fear of being late because in most cases, it doesn't really matter. But, on time I remain.

I've always said "10 minutes early is 20 minutes late.".

Dad was a radio and TV technician while we growing up. When the phone
rang during evening, dad would always say, “I’m not here.” Why? Because
some a-hole wanted him to come over to their house and adjust or fix their
TV set. After hours!

I was actually referring to phones before they clipped in to the wall, when they were hardwired in to the wall and you couldn't disconnect them by unclipping.

I do remember a 'busy signal' sound that they would make when you sat the receiver down that was very loud and annoying but would go away after a while.

At least I think that’s how I remember it, was so long ago and your memory is the 2nd thing to go… forgot what the 1st thing is.

No you didn't! The earpiece unscrewed like a jar lid, and the speaker would fall out without needing to remove wires.....
