Indeed it is - Lotus Esprit JPS "World Champion" edition, numbered 007 - 1 of 50 made for the US market to celebrate Mario Andretti's World Championship win in F1.

It is still weird to me that some people buy meat this way. Is it a certain type that just isn't available locally or something?

You’d never find this quality of prime beef locally anywhere near me and I can definitely notice the difference in marbling, taste and tenderness. I’ve gotten prime beef from Pat LaFrieda (also pretty good, but not as good), Fresh Market, Costco, Omaha Steaks and some other local options. Most of those are very good and Costco is the best for value, but IMO none compare to quality. Been ordering from them for many years now, but not that often because it is very pricey even when they throw in something free.

Makes sense, I haven't tried any of those so I wouldn't know the quality. I have been getting cows from just 2 farms around me and then having the same locker process it so the quality I get (I feel like it is really high) and the consistency is hard to beat. Last month I split a cow 4 ways with some family and got 224 lbs of beef for about $3 per lb processed, which is about impossible to beat!

edit: holy crap I just looked at that sight. I get my grass fed beef for under $5 a lb and the grass fed prime sirloin are over $100 per lb from there!! I don't think I could ever justify even trying that!

Well it helps that we are below 10% of 224 lbs per year. And we buy from those other sources too, particularly Costco and Fresh Marker, just not for Christmas Eve and a few other times / year when we get the good stuff.

My “won’t blow the budget” list is Woodford, Bulleit, Blanton’s, Jack Daniels No7, Diplomatico, Sailor Jerry, Antiqua Formula, Campari, Tito’s, Hendricks, Grand Marnier and Cointreau to start with. There are better and more expensive but this is where I start.
