Get a mentor. A good one. Someone who understands what your wish to achieve, what your strengths are, where your opportunity areas are, and isn't afraid to give you crap. Mine gave me some serious shit about an email that I sent last month and I'm in senior management.

Never stop learning. Always help others. Karma is real.

If you want an i8 or any other thing of high value just plan and save. I planned getting the M6 for about 3 years and the i8 for a similar amount of time. I planned on getting the new Ford GT until they announced the absurd price. I really thought it would be about $250-300K. The amount they are charging is ridiculous so I will now get a GT3-RS, but I digress.

Never count yourself out by setting internal limits. I don't mean be unrealistic...I know that even though I'm a pretty good driver, I will never be the F1 WDC. Not gonna happen. I mean what you said in your initial statement:

Yeah I don't own any of that expensive shit LOL I just like looking at it. My daily wallet was a cheap Original Penguin and I currently have a Ted Baker, which was more functional (OP didn't have a bill holder).

For the most part, customs don't give a shit. I came back with 5 replica watches and a couple bags for friends. I also got an exact replica of my Panerai Daylight to wear out on vacation and to bars/clubs so I won't worry about it.
