I don't have a dwell meter, but I do have a circa WWII Japanese ammeter taken from a captured sub by my dad. Wooden box with a folding hand crank, a shoulder strap, and Japanese writing and symbols that I cannot read. Still works, and major cool factor.

I have a German compass that my dad liberated from 2 German POW's he was
escorting to the rear. He also took their mess utensils and a 20 Mark paper bill.
Both POW's were officers.

During WW-II, the British were fighting for their honor, the French were fighting for their country, and the Americans were fighting for the souvenirs.....

I'm so loopy on medications (and heart failure) that it frequently takes me at least five minutes to just sit upright without the room spinning when getting out of bed.

I had a vertigo attack late this afternoon, and felt lucky to flop into my recliner and not wind up on the floor atop a crushed end table like two weeks ago.....

We used to do that. Years later, when I worked as an environmental geologist, I was horrified that I did that. It's amazing how badly a gallon of motor oil can affect the local groundwater.

When I worked as a mechanic at the dairy we used drain oil to keep the dust down on the dirt roads around the farm.

These may have all had kickstands (can't tell for sure) but when there was grass kickstands didn't work so well so you just layed them on the grass. Besides, they didn't get damaged laying them on the grass.

Back then, having a kickstand on your bike was a luxury

My Schwinn Sting-Ray had a built in kickstand. Some bikes had them added later as an accessory.
