That's not why I was complaining though.
I've been complaining about: Lack of a manual Lack of RWD only Addition of Hybrid (ewww) Addition of weight not in the form of a rice cooker but some janky battery instead Addition of screens everywhere Addition of Extra Fugly Sauce on top But I get it, it's not for me. Interested to see what the wagon looks like and if it looks better since we in the states will be getting them.

I’m curious what gas mileage might look like. It’s the whole point of a hybrid to give it way more gas mileage?

Try opening your mind ever so slightly Even the new 911’s are saying goodbye to manuals completely because it’s now seriously old tech at best

Young buck keyboard Warriors… A new generational thing, with hate in all directions. I don’t know what the deal is and why we can’t just be enthusiast, and be excited for each other’s choices regardless.

I'm glad you finally said it. But why do you need to be loyal and defend the brand? They are a for-profit business, not a charity or your family. If anything, BMW should be loyal to us, we are the customers after all. i.e. Make the latest model better and faster than the outgoing generation like they've done for decades. But instead they brought us this ridiculous thing, but I'm sure they'll sell *some* as there are apparently people who will buy whatever garbage they produce in the name of "loyalty".

On average you post three times a year. Don’t you have better things to do with your time? …I think not.. Stick around with all your negativity and I can promise you you’re going to get banned.

I had a F90 Comp, MPG was low 20s in city/suburbs. I don’t know the emissions target for BMW but 20mpg stop and go for a V8 is very respectable. If I had to guess (which I am) G90 will get high 20s for city. I’m sure someone will look it up and post it.

To answer your first question, I'm here for the same reasons you are - namely to discuss the M5. And the time you spent figuring out my annual post rate should answer your second question - yes I generally have better things to do with my time. |

Yes! If everyone had the same opinion they'd only make one car in one color. I often see the Usual Suspects often get offended with individual/subjective opinions on almost anything they are passionate about. Some take enthusiasts opinions as personal insults. So silly. It's a blog for Pete's sake. Thicker skins...

The only thing manual in most cars these days is the glovebox.

DEEP Thought:
The electric motor’s 40 mile range will come in handy when the S68 shits the bed on an owner. Might be a marketing point for BMW to consider…. |

I honestly love all the comments of the people saying those "hating" here don't own M5s or are not in the market for one.
Do you think I would waste my time here if I was not a BMW M/AMG enthusiast who owned these cars? I have owned M6 F06 GC, M4, M5 F90 and M5 F90 LCI Comp (currently in the garage). I was hoping the M5 would save itself from the emission b.s. and the problems from PHEV AMGs. But then they managed to churn a heavier, equally fast, less luxurious and with worse finish and space then the previous gen. Do you think I support that? No, its utter non sense and all BMW M owners should complain. Will I drive it? Yes. If its better then I will come here and correct myself. Nonetheless the non paid reviews and specs suggest that this could well be the most disappointing new gen M5 thus far, where its marginally better than the brilliant F90 M5 in some aspects and worse in a ton. I would purchase one if I saw it as a good replacement. Currently I rather keep mine or already move up the ladder to the AMG GT63 S PHEV or Panamera given the obscene price of the M5 puts it into spitting distance of these guys here, and these cars have the same flaws |
