Love my Tag but hate the bracelet. Sent it to Tag to get it fixed. They wouldn't cover it under warranty, even though it was within the time frame. Wear it every day but needs the pins pushed back in every day. Sooner or later I will just go for the rubber band. Oh well. Still love the watch. The Citizen it replaced sits in the box keeping perfect time after almost 13 years. I keep it running for the times my Tag needs to be in the shop.

I was getting some watch batteries replaced at a local watch maker a few months back when the guy told me an interesting story. First, this fellow trained and was qualified as a watch maker in Switzerland years ago, so he knows his stuff when it comes to Swiss watches. I asked him about Tag watches, particularly in comparison to a Tissot that I bough a couple of years ago. Here is what he said, as best as I can recall.

"Know what the difference is between the guts of your Tissot and a Tag? No difference. Tissot makes watches for Tag under an exclusive wholesale arrangement that Tissot is in the Swiss courts to get out of. Tag takes the watches that Tissot builds and resells them at a massive profit. If you want a great watch and want to save a lot of money at the same time, buy a Tissot".

I was quite shocked, but he was quite adamant.

I bought a carrera a little over a year ago. Love the watch however I seem to be a rare case. It is currently in for its second warranty repair for the same issue. It's gaining roughly 4 hours per day. I've told the jewelry shop I bought it from that I really don't want that exact watch back. I can't find anyone else with the same issue and they have never heard of it being anything more than a minute a day (usually 15 seconds max). They are on my side with trying to have ot replaced, just have to see what Tag says. Once for this issue ok but a second time for a fine watch that is the 4th biggest purchase I've made in my life is not ok.

I've also had some issues with the pin backing out of the band...

Here is our collection of Tag Carreras. I love my Tags, all work very well. The Carrera on the right is 10 years old and keeps perfect time, never any service.

EDIT: anyone know what day of the month it is?

Reserved to post pictures.
I wear my Tag Formula 1 everyday and I feel naked without it. My every member of my family also owns 1-2 Tags each. I just got done taking Mother's aluminum polish to all of the watches in the house and make them all look brand new again.
My father just picked up an Aquaracer Calibre 16 (Blue dial) while on a cruise in January. It's hot.

Love the looks of my Calibre S. Hoping to have the only one on the forum but saw another. Great time keeping device...unless you place it near a magnetic source...then it send is haywire. Easy fix...just annoying. Otherwise, different and beautiful IMHO.

Ummmm, NO. He may have been speaking of the ETA movement which forms the base for many Swiss watches (incl. some TAGs) but TAG still adds modules to the ETA movement to create its own watches.

My first TAG:

2nd:

and 3rd:

these share my wrist with a Baume & Mercier Milleis XL, Tudor Big Block and a VC Overseas, stainless, black dial.

Got my Link Automatic serviced and cleaned. Cost about $600 since I purchased grey market about 7-8 years ago now. Watch looks like new and runs perfectly.

Here are some more pics of my small collection.

Slow day at work - just saw this.

Well, based on the numerous certificates on his wall from the watchmakers's school he attended in Switzerland, I'd say he is absolutely correct.

I am a fan of tag, I have 2 aqua racers and a kirium F1. But this is the prize. Calibre 36 concept, 24 ever made (no serial number only 7 of 24, but internal serial numbers are listed on the card) that have the gulf colors after the the fall out between tag and Gulf about the color scheme. A round chronograph in the square Monaco body. Also for sale if you want. I bought it new never worn it and it is just sitting the the closet collecting dust. I know but this a watch you do not wear except for special flings. But I never had a chance to wear
