I’m honored, my friend. I inquired about 299 for my personal e46 M3, e90, f80. I was always bummed when the inevitable “not available” email reply arrived.
I’m so happy you’re getting Techno Violet. This will give me some time to look for an e34 to do a proper photo shoot when yours arrives!

I officially gave up my slot for the Touring today. Got on the list several years ago when it was just a rumor. I just couldn’t get excited for it. Maybe I’ll change my mind later.
Looking forward to following everyone’s progress and photos.

I was told if I did Individual paint that would delay delivery. I went with Carbon Black same as my E60 M5. I am concerned that the G90/99 is experiencing bean counter syndrome though. For the money, a lot of features aren't included or even available. Right now I'm on the fence between G99 and Porsche 992.2 C2S if/when they announce a manual option. Two very different cars but those are my upcoming choices. In my opinion the 911 looks way better than the current 5 series and am sure would drive way better. Added bonus with Porsche is that they still offer Euro Delivery.

As a 2016 328i touring sport : track handling package owner I’ve been waiting for the M5 wagon to be my next daily. During all the waiting I realized I’m not excited anymore. Have a GT4 for track, so what is an M5 wagon achieving. The killer is hybrid drive & it’s weight. I just ordered a new Taycan 4S cross turismo. Actually weighs less than the M5 touring!
I do look forward to seeing some of these techno violet cars! I’m sure they will be super fast and fun.

...and the infotainment system was not designed with humans in mind (designed by guys with lab coats and clipboards and obviously never evaluated by users/drivers). IE: Somehow having to completely close the backup camera screen just to close the garage door (and then manually open the backup camera screen again) seemed to be an acceptable design. So many other senseless human engineering issues as well... (You can find my "Dear Porsche" letters on the Taycan forum if you want more details). If I bought a toaster "designed by Porsche", I would now want to check to see what gyrations I would have to perform to actually get a slice of toast out of it... So, yeah, not a good first impression for me. Traded it for an i7 M70 and not looking back... (i7M70 replaced the Taycan as my DD and for XC trips where chargers are plentiful. G99 will be for long XC trips where chargers are more of a challenge to find. Just did 3700 miles (in 6 days) in my i8 for a family funeral where chargers were not so common - and that's not a viable option for more than 1 person/1 bag.) Hope you have a better experience!
