Porsche taking a 50% stake is huge - they don't want to be just a name slapped on a car. Alpha Tauri remains the same which will likely sort of become the "new Red Bull" if Porsche eventually buys the entire Red Bull operation in its current form. It's clear Porsche wants some control so I don't see them not eventually buying the team completely as the cheaper way in F1 instead throwing away millions or billions trying to start a new F1 team.

Porsche Reported To Take 50% Stake In Red Bull Racing
. https://www.carscoops.com/2022/07/po...d-bull-racing/ "Legal documents surrounding Porsche's entry into Formula 1 have revealed that the German sports-car manufacturer will take a 50 percent stake in Red Bull Racing, with a 10-year commitment from Stuttgart. While an official release is yet to materialize, European Union anti-trust regulations that require such tie-ups be green-lit in advance have led to the publication of the deal. As reported by Motorsport.com, the revelation comes from Morocco, one of 20 countries outside the EU where the move was lodged and has been made public due to the country's stipulated process." While the documents report Porsche taking a 50 percent stake in Red Bull Technology, according to the report, the deal will be extended to the entire team.

Or is it Red Bull?
BUDAPEST, Hungary -- Plans for Porsche to acquire a 50% stake in Red Bull's Formula One operation have been made public in a document published by Morocco's Conseil de la Concurrence. The news follows months of speculation about Porsche's return to F1 in 2026, but it is not final confirmation that a deal has been done. https://www.espn.com/f1/story/_/id/3...f1-team-emerge |

Keep in mind that VER contract ends in 2028 and will be in his 30's(?). Who knows if he'll still want to race and at that time, what the situation will be at Red Bull. I don't see any scenario where Porsche does not buy Red Bull completely. They will get 2 years of VER and after that, they can bring in their own drivers.

Max probably agreed to this contract knowing that Porsche is coming onboard. If Max's career trends the way it has been, he will no doubt continue racing into his 30's and potentially leave an unbeatable legacy. A 50/50 deal is smart and shows Porsche's commitment to the team. I don't see Red Bull selling the team to Porsche. |

I could be wrong but everything is lining up for Porsche to have their own team and to add F1 to their already successful motorsport portfolio. This is the most cost effective way to do it and I don't see them just being 50/50 partners. |

I would be shocked if Audi use one engine and Redbull/Porsche another. Far more likely that Porsche / Audi use the same engine from Redbull power trains based in the UK. Or at the very least it’s the same engine just manufactured in another location but again unlikely.

Mind you Audi and Porsche in the VAG group don’t get on so them doing different things and not joining up might happen. Would cost them more money or maybe Porsche are only giving RedBull money and not actually doing any of the thinking and engineering just paying to put a badge on the car and Audi is doing more legwork with an entirely new F1 engine, very brave if that is what they do.

They're very capable of developing the engine and on top of that, they have a huge headstart from the rest of the grid along with Porsche to do it. |

Yeah I get that they might do it, just seems odd that they will both likely use different engines and double the development cost. RedBull having created the powertrains business aren't going to suddenly close it down so they seem set for 2x different powertrains that in a cost cutting / cost to manufacturer prospective just seems a bit odd.
Mind you politics within the group it seems entirely in line with the squabbling they do internally so as you were it seems. |

Audi confirmed as 2026 POWER UNIT MANUFACTURER at the moment. No confirmation of chassis supplier. CEO of Audi confirms that Porsche and Audi will have separate operations and that Audi will be the only PU manufactured in Germany. |

Okay...it's rumoured now that the Porsche tie up with RB may now not happen with Porsche asking for more than half of RB Enterprises and as said in my back post Honda are there as a firm back up to carry on with them.
RB are worried that Porsche's influence may be too great for the Milton Keynes set up and negotiations have stalled. |
