That may not be too bad if the new engine allows him to compete enough to stay within a couple of places of Norris. If it's raining then all bets are off though Max's aggression could cost him dearly if he sees that as an opportunity to storm to the front and win.

I don't think he will be storming agressively to the front in the rain, I think he is a more calculating driver than you think. Just waiting for his chances and steadily gaining places. Just like his wet race in Brasil 2016.

The Honda engines, they just don't die.

One of my first cars was a manual Honda Civic, i have a feeling none of the prior owners ever changed the cambelt. At 200,000kms it snapped while my wife was driving uphill. Towed it to a shop, put on a new cambelt and it worked like new.

Regarding the Brazil race, if Max has a new engine for the race, based on his experience, I'd estimate he'd climb up easily into the top 5 even if he starts from the back of the grid.

MAX losing two of them through failure increases the wear rate on his remaining engine pool while Merc engines can juggle more of them delaying grid penalties.

Yea that makes sense Rick, as a neutral fan, hopefully the new engine (if needed) performs well and puts on a show, the WDC is going down to the wire..

Max Verstappen has reacted to all the statements made by Johnny Herbert. The Briton who worked as a steward in Mexico and Singapore where Verstappen picked up penalties. Herbert will also be on duty during this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix.

"When Verstappen goes into this horrible mindset of trying to gain an advantage by taking a fellow driver off the race track so Ferrari can get the one-two," Herbert stated in an interview after the Mexico GP. According to Verstappen, Herbert also failed to pay attention in Mexico. Whereas Verstappen received a penalty when he said 'f***ed' during a press conference, Charles Leclerc got away with it in Mexico. The Monegasque is still under investigation but hasn't been given a penalty yet. Verstappen was quickly penalised in Singapore.

Herbert had his opinion ready about Verstappen in an interview after Verstappen's statement, but he remained silent about Leclerc's swearing.
