Make the 8 Series slightly more upmarket since it fights above it weight class anyway and just label it an Alpina. Make it special!

Then that leaves more market room for the return of the 6 Series. Smaller, intuitive, beautiful chassis dynamics, hydraulic steering (not going to happen, 6-cylinder and V8 engine options, and available in Coupe, Cabriolet, Gran Coupe, and via special order a damn Targa version.

Base, M Sport, and M GmbH versions.

Oh, and it should have jaw-dropping and panty dropping styling that echos previous BMW style inspirations (nothing recent) and while futuristic looking forward to set the tone that BMW and BMW M are taking zero prisoners with it.

If those two cars go away as you have mentioned there will be holes in the lineup that will be need to be filled.
It won't happen. No 6 Series coming back. The 4 Series is already huge in size and it would be too close to a 6 Series. ALPINA might move up in segment, but that's also an ongoing conversation. Head of Alpina design came from Rolls-Royce recently.

In short - after an accident, a cement truck fell on top of i8. No one inside the i8 died - fortunately. Only injuries reported.

This article serves as 10 votes for i8 as a daily driver.

May not be an EV, time will tell. 6 years is a very long time in the automotive world these days.

Yeah, thats something about the quality, not everything, and too small sample size indeed. I found also if people have an agenda with EVs everything is bad about them even though like only 13% dont like them because of how they drive, and most dont like them due to bad charging infrastructure or cost related to some out of warranty maintenance or losing value as used.

With the introduction of teslas robo taxi, self landing mega rocket and ai bmw surely has to step up their innovations or left behind as others prob do the same…

Design alone won’t save any brand … hope bmw is paying attention.

They are but short of selling to Chinese (which I think is how BMW ends to be honest) they cant really do much to compete against Tesla. Time will tell. I think they will be first from big german independent car companies to fold.
