My battery died Friday morning, it was -5 degrees F.

Thankfully the dealer got me in and replaced it for free.

Man Friday was COLD, cold as I have ever felt here. Just biting cold, no escape anywhere outside.

Meanwhile, my hometown was the hottest place on the planet on Sunday, topping out at 47.3 degrees celsius.

Sent from my warm house because it's 65ºF outside and raining.

Reforger '85. (Return of Forces to Germany) Probably the coldest I've ever been, although it wasn't the coldest temps I've ever endured. I was just badly unprepared for this trip. Nearly froze to death one night when I had to sleep outside in this freezing fog.

i remember when i first moved out here in Ohio coming from San Diego i was outside on a utility pole hooking up some cable connections 7pm at night. Temperature was -3 with wind chills of -11. i got my first minor frost bite and had no clue i got it. it was so cold up that pole that i couldn't get a grip on the fittings so i took my leather insulated gloves off for just 5 minutes so i can feel what i was doing. got back down from the pole and jumped in my truck to warm up my hands over the heater vent and my hand literally felt like they were on fire! my finger tips were white and didn't turn back to it's normal color. the next day i couldn't feel my finger tips and they were still white! i showed my coworkers and they said "yup! that's frost bite!" it took almost 6 weeks until the skin peeled off my finger tips that i could start feeling anything again

Yeah you think thats bad? One time it was hot as hell outside and I was out there trying to fix this damn fence for hours. I got super sweaty. Had to jump in the pool afterwards with a cold beer just to cool off, almost got a sunburn!!!

So today, up in Montecito and Carpenteria, the schools are having a "rain" day. Yes, they are closed because it's raining. I guess hover-parents are grounded in rain.

Well...that's a ringing endorsement for the pussification of society. Unless we're talking Biblical proportions (which won't happen again btw, so I know we are not), rain should not be keeping children home.

It seemed biblical when I just stood out there.

Co-workers were yelling at me to get back inside. WTF, I enjoy a good shower every now and then. Apparently none of them every floated boats down the gutter, nor hydroplaned their bicycle in the gutter either

I've been getting text alerts from the county for days now. This morning at 0530 they were kind enough to let me know the 101 was hard closed 20 miles north of my bed.

I don't drive the 101 to work!!

There used to be this pipe, about 50', that began where the gutters ended and dumped out in the field drainage ditch. I was never bold enough, but my brothers and several other neighborhood kids used to float it during rainy season. They never mentioned seeing any clowns thouh
