agreed... small skull... also it's the jaw line, and the eyebrows/eyebone... if they're distinctive, you get by glamorously with shorthair, else it just looks more like something cooler for the summer.

also a shorter girl is more 'aided' in overall appearance by shorty short hair, as well as one that has a short neck.

It's like how a below the knee skirt makes a already short girl look shorter overall...

The singer... or in some circles 'singer' PINK can pull off short hair.

not a good example on the 2nd pic, well it's 'good' but.

But the first one, the

side profile perfectly displays a distinct angular jawline. it makes the face longer than it is round. No sunken chin either. all ths helps in being photogenic but also adds angles/definition to a skull, which you see more of when hair is short.

Not saying PINK is a classic beauty though.. I think someone like Christy Turlington is.

I think Natalie Portman is just weird, no other word. She comes off as this uber smart(no doubt she is) Harvard grad who may have some acting skills. I was in love w/ her in highschool....... and that is exactly where I left her. She's got the type A personality it seems, iif I had to make an assesment.
