For pure regret, it has to be the Dodge Intrepid I bought right after we moved to IL. I don't know what possessed me to buy such a POS, but after 18-months I was ready to dump it. It was then I discovered that the resale value was dirt because it was a common rental fleet car and the secondary market was full of them. Luckily that led me to my current salesman at Isringhausen. He gave me the best deal for it and I ended up with a beautiful E39. The was the first of 6 cars I've purchased through him.

My 2001 E38 was a love/hate relationship. When that car was running right, it was pure heaven. But man, what a maintenance nightmare. In the shop seemingly every month. So I can't say I regret buying it, because I so enjoyed driving it, but I wasn't sad to see it go.

Don't regret it, but my 1997 EK hatchback was kind of a disaster. Went through about 3 transmissions, axles separating, shift linkage was about as loose as a prostitutes vagina, and the B series swap wasn't exactly done very well and ended up blowing a hole in the block on my drive home from work one day and nobody helped me push it.

Favorite car was probably the RSX-S. 6 speed, small, nimble, 125 shot of nitrous..., it was definitely a fun car to drive. I enjoy the 1 series, but automatic has killed a lot of the fun factor.

Oh, and the Scaglietti is a piece of shit.

Biggest regret was leasing my 2014 Ford Focus. My old Saturn's engine seized and I needed a car ASAP, so I just leased one with cheap payments. I liked the finish and quality, but it was so soulless and my first automatic so I hated driving it.

Life's too short to love cars but hate the one you drive. So I traded it in early for a 335.

Like I said, the ones before 2011 (with the exception of the RS4) are trash. No comparison with the BMWs and Benz's of that time frame.

That said, the newer ones aren't bad cars...just not the type of cars for people who actually like cars. The interior build of the new Audis is pretty solid. The engines, while underpowered, are pretty refined. Transmissions are horrible for ripping and roaring, but for grabbing milk and commuting to and from work they are fine.

Yeah, there are enthusiasts in the Audi world, but most of the people who buys Audis are people who really do not car much about cars themselves; hence why Audi tailors them to suit their wants/needs.

If I were in the market for a car, and a low mileage RS4 was for sale, I would do it without any regrets.

My vehicle history:
02 Acura RSX - wrecked it
03 Acura RSX - still have it and it's my daily (13 years in July, 220k miles)
04 Honda CBR600RR - sold it after owning for 3 years
07 BMW Z4M Coupe - still have it (owned for 1 year)
12 Ducati 1199PanigaleS - just bought 2 weeks ago.

So far, I regret selling the CBR and buying the Duc. Trying to keep an open mind until I get used to the bike though.

I'm partly trolling and partly serious, but there isn't a VW/Audi badge product that I would drive. The hate is that strong.

Worst car 2006 VW Passat 3.6 Sport. Stretched timing chain at 85k miles. Poor overall construction.

Best car that I have owned for over 10 years now is a Porsche factory 914-6. Street legal go kart.

My dad had an 00 A6 that was then handed down to my sister when somebody hit her and wrecked her 99.5 A4. She parked it one day, and while still in the car, flames started coming out of the vents. Her and her friend GTFO and the car burned to the ground. Cause: Electrical fault. Obviously Audi paid out instead of insurance, but that was the end of my family's affinity for Audi.

The 1199 Panigale S

I love those things. Unfortunately, I can't own a bike otherwise I'd own one myself.

1975 pickle-green Volvo 245DL station wagon. I carried so many spare parts in the back of that thing, along with tool box and the shop manual.
One day, while under it, the gamma radiation must have been just right because I lifted that fucker off the ground I was so pissed.

The last straw, it left me at work again (on base, so help was limited) on a Friday. I punched out the drivers window, got a ride home, and drove to work on Monday in a Mercury Tracer. Yes, the Merc(ury) was better.

I mostly commute and cruise on my bike - I'm not too keen on canyon rides because that is how I wrecked my first RSX, and the danger is real on a bike. The duc definitely runs rougher due to the huge v-twin. It also runs freakin HOT compared to the CBR. Finally, I'm not too keen on the various electronics and such on it, especially the drive by wire. The CBR gave a more pure experience. I've only logged 200 miles on the duc and it was mostly freeway, so I'm trying to keep an open mind, like I said. There is obviously a massive cost difference between the 2, and I'm not sure it's worth it for me and my use. That said, the styling is not comparable - I find myself going out to the garage just to look at the bike. That never happened with the CBR. I also feel like a BOSS on it, lol. Oh, and all these bullshit things on the dash, but no fuel gauge. I know not all bikes have a fuel guage, but I'm pretty salty about that (CBR had one).

How old would we have to be to be able to have a long list to choose from...I've only purchased 3 new cars in my life, and I still have all 3. Prior to new, I had 1-2-3-4, that got me from age 19 until my first new car.

What year did you have it? I had a 244DL 4 speed manual, it had over 400k and was reliable as a ****. They were still OHV motors that simply ran forever. I had it in the 90's. Paid $70 for it and used it 3 years. What spare parts did it need?

edit: I did not have this car in the 90's, as I had a 264GLE. I think I had this car 1988-90. abandoned it at an apartment cuz the starter went bad, and when I put a used one it, it still wouldn't start. kinda weird to ditch a car over a starter. but it did have an issue with the distributor--if a tiny lock pin comes loose, the car doesn't run, maybe that was my issue...

Pops bought it new. Drove it thru a sandstorm in 77 that pitted paint and windshield. Nobody would touch the paint.
EGR valve was always failing. Duct hoses would get small holes and engine wouldn't start. Leaked oil worse than any car I've ever seen. We determined over the years it was a Monday production vehicle
