If someone hits or throws something at your car while you are driving, legally it's assault with a deadly weapon, years in prison etc. Alternative to chasing them down like the scum they are is call the cops and wait for them while the guy leaves. Not happening.

In this instance you can't see the kid. Everyone's on the McLaren owner for rolling through the stop. But that was not close to anyone and had no bearing on the incident. A couple seconds later he honks at the kid. Why? Maybe the kid was heading straight for him and he was warning him. Maybe the kid gave him the finger or spit on his car. Who knows. But getting his windshield broken is assault. A punk running off gets away with it unless you go after him. In that case he learns a valuable lesson in respect for others and their possessions.

And in this link there is info from the camera guy saying the driver made the skateboarder fall off his board and then he smashed the windshield..basically on purpose. So, that clarifies a little. And they caught the kid.

The camera guy says the driver made him fall off his board. Obviously we don't know if he cut him off or if it was a near miss. Taking your idea on this situation, if the driver was an ass and almost hit him, the skateboarder should have just called the guy out of the car and beat his ass with the skateboard.

So I dont know what the guy tries to accomplish by running after the kid. He cant do anything, not even touch the kid. He should be going to the police for a report and then call his insurance. Thats what grown ups do.

Where do you live? If you get assault with a deadly weapon you can use deadly force to protect yourself, ie. Run over the kid is legal.

I heard about this on local radio this morning. The driver was definitely in the wrong, but it still doesn't give the kid a right to do what he did. They should both be ticketed, and so should the guy filming vertically. How difficult is it to turn your phone 90 degrees people!

I can assure you.... it isnt. Severity and possible consequences are equally important.
In the first place the mclaren driver has an obligation to take into account that there are weaker traffic participants (in this case pedestians, at a zebra crossing no less).

Also you cant use violence if you feel assaulted but the danger is gone (literally gone, the kid runs away). You cant be your own judge and jury. Thats a task for the police. They are empowered to handle this, to prevent people taking matters in their own hands.

Mclaren ran stop sign. Kid is skateboarding and almost gets run over. Clearly driver does not give a shit that there are pedestrians or the skateboarder is trying to cross the street. Mclaren driver has an ego probably because he thought he could make the turn and the skateboarder would wait. Then has the audacity to honk the horn as if the kid was in the wrong. Kid gets pissed and smashes windshield.

My opinion, Mclaren driver got what was coming to him. Fuck him and his ego. Next time don't run a stop sign and honk the horn like a jackass.
