i can't bear to give apple money when they introduce stuff a few years late.

i understand the power of Apple, since when they do introduce tech, it becomes universal, but i just think they have lost Steve's vision and they are more driven to take care of the stock holders vs. making innovative features.

I'm a stock holder and I think it's great. Face ID is supposed to be new with the true depth sensing and is said to take 2-3 years for android to catch up. It is leaps and bounds ahead of the face unlock that existed on Samsung phones that was easily fooled by pictures or video. Also, the A11 Bionic is at least 2 generations ahead of android in performance and innovation. Apple was first to get a 64 bit processor. I would get the iPhone X even though it is expensive because I made way more $$ in the Apple stock I own.

I was able to complete the order over the phone one year when the website crashed. I would start with online first, order from the Apple website rather than the carrier website as the user experience is better and seems to work better for me. You can already use the configurator now and just have it ready so you can hit the order button on the 27th.

Unfortunately I can't order through Apple. My plan is cooperation. Maybe over the phone is better? I tested ordering an iphone 8 through Verizon and it was over a week for delivery.

Yeah the longer you wait the longer the delivery times, and it depends on the model as some models are higher demand than others. For the X my guess is the cheaper model will sell out sooner. I've had problems ordering from the Verizon site in the past as it would not let me keep my existing plan but it worked fine on Apple's site. What do you mean by your plan is cooperation? You mean corporation? I get a corporate discount on my plan as well and was able to order through Apple in the past.

Sorry. Yes, a corporation. I forget what Apple's site said but it said something along the lines of, my plan was a corporation plan i wasnt able to order through apple. Okay yeah if you have a corporate device you may have to go through your IT department to get the upgrade. Mine is a personal device and plan, but with a corporate discount.

Despite being a stock holder myself, I agree that Job's vision is not as clear as it used to be. However, compared to the competition it's still near the top for one simple reason: platform architecture.

No other smartphone integrates as seamlessly with my other devices: iPad, Macbook, iMac, Mac Pro, my wife's iPhone and my friend's and family's iPhones. Maybe that limits the flexibility that android users enjoy, but you get that integration in return, which for a professional on the move who has multiple offices, multiple desktops and a laptop to work on, it's definitely a valuable asset.

The past three months have been relatively stagnant when compared to how long I've been a holder. The low iPhone 8 sales didn't help yesterday's position, but next week might tell a different story.

Jobs is dead so it would be Cook's vision now. It is true that it feels like there's more design catch up occurring than before but there are innovations taking place as well. Even in the Job's era, Apple was one of the last players to adopt LTE but this coming later to the game and doing it better than the competition seems more common now than it was before.

Well I can't stand my Samsung S8+ anymore. So I would gladly pay for a phone that works smoothly and doesn't run Android.

I expect there to be some movement within the next month to after the xmas season, them selling every X they can make into next year should be good for the stock. Plan to sell if it hits some all time highs, then re-buy later in the year when/if it dips.

I tried to switch to android several times. My wife was an android user for years and then I got myself a Galaxy S. I returned in within a week because it performed so poorly. Switched my wife to iPhone too and never looked back.

I had a Samsung windows phone before I had an iPhone and it sucked. Have had iPhones ever since.

The should make it an e-sim on the next iphone like the apple watch series 3. They should also get rid of the lightening port entirely and just have fast wireless charging.

There have been 8 or 9 reports of swelling WORLDWIDE out of the millions and millions of iphone 8's out there. Only 1 was in the US. Even if there are only just 1 million iphone 8's out there, which is a fraction of the actual sales that Apple does not publish, that's a 0.0008% occurrence. Thats a statistical insignificance.
