When I was doing some club racing, 20 years or so ago, if you ignored the yellow flags, you got penalised. End of. No matter what excuse you had, valid or not, they simply gave you a time penalty after the race.

I can't help but wonder the same.

Whatever was found on the Ferarris last year must have been so huge, that the punishment in whatever shape of form had to be massive.

Maybe the advantage they had due to whatever, was so intrinsically part of their engine design, that by removing it completely destroyed their pace.
