They should only allow glowing praise on here. I wish the moderators would ban anyone with even the slightest wayward tone.

I am inclined to disagree. The C63 S (a pretty strong name) is not selling. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid was a giant flop, so was the S63 AMG and the AMG GT 63 S 4 Door Hybrid.

I think it will sell less than the I5 M60.

The C63 S is a 4-cylinder hybrid which turned off a lot of buyers despite the high horsepower figure when mated to the electric motor. The new M5 is still the twin turbocharged 8-cylinder set-up from the XM, which is robust. The Panamera Turbo E-hybrid is a bit of a flop just like the Taycan.

It made me think of the press photos for the F10 M5- the airplane hanger, the man in his mid 40’s dressed like a professional- the epitome of the M5 owner.

I saw the trash bag in this quick advertisement and I wondered what target audience they were going after with that

I looked at the s63 last week. I know it’s not the same price point, but damn is that looking good lately.

Once in a while when they are not trying to be politically correct? Would it be better like to see some cringe video as they revealed the new i5 with millennials?

I think Mercedes is bringing the V8 back to the C63, however. That will reinvigorate the sales. It was absurd for them to think they could put a 4 cylinder in there and sell it.

I still think people are not too keen on very heavy cars with the complication of double powertrain (V8 + Hybrid).

These cars are too heavy, and full of complications. Normally people who don't want full electric cars, either have trouble with the recharging part and range (where the hybrid works well) or don't want a car with complicated heavy and soon to be outdated batteries. Considering the latter, and the group of enthusiasts, I belive the M5 G90 will sell well, but no where near what the F90 sold. F90 sold in huge numbers.

I understand the G90 concept. But I was disappointed with the execution.

Viewed the sedan and touring today in closed room, and they both look absolutely gorgeous.
M got rid of the ugly black plastic parts on the lower body and corners on the “regular” 5 series, applying paint on every part of the body (except for the facia).
Cars look muscular, wide, yet refined. Sits pretty low too, with (widened) wheel arches filled to the rim.
Far better seats then in normal 5 series too.
727 HP.
I’m in love.

All of the cars produced these days are heavy. Even the Porsche guys complain about the 3300+ lb. 992 variants. The beautiful thing about both BMW and Porsche is they mask vehicle weight extremely well. I think it’s too soon to start lobbing sales predictions.

Ahh yea, because nothing screams innovation like rehashing the same design year after year. Let's embrace change—after all, even the best classics were once bold new ideas.

Sales figures are all public. The XM outsells the Z4 and is ahead of the X2 too i think. However the XM is 3 times the cost of those also.

The new M5 is nice looking sedan, but a pure boat in many regards. Curious to see how well it can corner on the track. LMAO

All this bitching about a 700hp V8 sedan is a bit much. It’s the last of the ICE M5s. We are lucky it’s not fully electric. Try to enjoy the release…
