It does need mods...it has small brakes, sloppy suspension, lack of seat support and it is slower than an STI....we can keep on going...DID I mention Torsen vs Haldex Differential

........
0-to-60-mph time: 4.7 sec
Quarter-mile time: 13.5 sec @ 102 mph
IMPOSSIBLE...sorry but I'm not a magazine racer

Let's get serious here..It's like saying that the 335 is better than the M3(The only ones saying that are the ones who can't afford an m3s and justify their 335 purchase by saying that it's better faster with JB3 or Vishnu V3.

brakes, suspension, seats....those upgrades will cost you less than the $10K difference between the WRX and STI. also, unless hes tracking the car, are they really that necessary?? if so, then to him it might be worth it.

performance wise, the 335 and M3 are not nearly as close as the WRX and STI. im talking purely stock. the more expensive car, the M3, is faster. the STI is more expensive but slower...

The thing is how can you say it is slower...and like I said the WRX 265 and WRX STI are very different cars. The WRX 265 is born as a FWD(haldex) while the STI is Torsen and has DCCD while the WRX does not have it ...the power split is different also. It's like when I had my a4 sure it did outperform B6 S4s but with all the money that I had put in the car it wasn't worth it...on top of all the headhaches.
With that being said would you buy a ralliart over an EVO? Or back in the days a GS-R over a Type-R?

As for the magazine part well...Where I live in Montreal we have a very fast track where I've myself ran unreal 1/4 mile time so did a lot of friends. It depends a lot on the day, track conditions driver etc.

0-60 and 1/4 mile times the WRX is just a tad faster. whether it was born as a FWD car or not, it still hits 60 faster than the STI.

look, i didnt want to get into a debate about it. i was merely suggesting the OP look at it as well since the mag's have been clocking the new WRX faster than the STI. the OP might say, hey, the $10K difference in upgrades to the STI over the WRX is worth it. to each his own.

both are high performing cars for the money.

In regards to Logan’s car (the blue one) he has a fair amount invested in it. The bottom line kit (lip, skirts etc) is around $1200-1500 un painted, the hood is probably at least $750, unpainted, the Advans are a good $2,400, then you have tints, angel eyes and a few other things just for cosmetics. Next you have a full TBE at $1,500, accessport and tune at another $1,000 not including the Brides seats, FMIC, tubing, upgraded turbo, better rubber, coil-overs, sways, headers etc. Figure on at least $15k in his car and probably more. And warranty is out the window as soon as you screw with the ECU.

Don’t get me wrong I loooooove his car but has put in some serious time and money into it.
