Bottom line, if you own xBox 360... get Forza3. If you own PS3... wait for GT5.

gran turismo for graphics and forza for racing simulation. although obviously we dont how GT5 will be but i'm sure it won't be much different then the prologue...

After playing the latest build of the game, I can say the difference between prologue and GT5 is huge.

The only reason this delay isn't really pissing me off is the huge lineup of multi-platform and ps3 exclusive releases that have come out that I haven't played or want to play before GT5 takes over my life.

When I heard the rumors that GT5 this was releasing in March I was already wondering how I was going to prestige in MW2 again, finally finish Dead Space, play Metal gear solid 4 in it's entirety, play Mass Effect 2, Assassins Creed 2, Demon's Souls, get Fallout 3 Game of the year edition to play all of the expansions, and pick up Bio shock and Batman : Arkham asylum from the bargain bin and play them. Then when March rolled around I would have to buy gt5, Final Fantasy 13 and God of War 3 around the same time and play one when I got tired of the other two until my eyes bled, in addition to a couple more prestiges in MW 2.

I bought an Xbox last year so also picked up a bunch of the "don't miss" exclusive like Gears of War 1 (finished) and 2 (barely started), KOTOR 1 and 2, and I've never even played a Halo for more than 20 minutes at a friends place. I would want to do all of that before the second-half 2010 releases started coming out. At which time I would be obligated to play Bioshock 2 and Dead Space 2.

Man, It's a great time to be a gamer 8) It's a good thing I'm short on time, motivation, and money to do all that, but that's my wish list for the next 6 months of gaming. I think I could be busy gaming for the next 2 years if they stopped releasing games entirely just working on the backlog that I own right now.

I would get Forza 3, but can't find a decent wheel that doesn't cost as much as my mortgage payment that will work on both XBOX 360 and PS3 as I'm definitely going to get GT5.


I know Forza 3 is a damn good game, and I'm sure Gt5 will also be really good also, I can wait, there's plenty of gaming to do in the mean time.

Actually I hadn't heard of prologue. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks to E90Slam for linking that article. Zjp, sucks huh? I'm still shocked how much they keep pushing this thing back.

I don't know what you mean by Forza having cars "smash into each other" because that's not how it is. Sure, you can turn off damage and smash into whoever you want, but if you're truly racing the game, hitting another vehicle will damage your driving ability just like in GT.

Nice man, so you have a regular GT3 and a GT3 RS? What color is the RS? I cant really tell from the pics, it looks silver. Btw, which car do you prefer in the game from those 2? and Can you change the color of the GT3 RS to any?

997.2*? correct, theirs no 997.5? Its the 2nd generation. They do have it, I have seen it on a screen shot in the FOrza forums, but it looks weird

The GT3 RS is a metallic silver currently, but I'll probably be painting it a darker gray and adding some ungodly orange wheels, side mirrors, and lettering on it, like the real ones.



You can paint any part of the car any color you'd like. You can even add your own vinyls to make flags, etc. Customization is truly incredible in this game.

Personally I probably like the GT3 better. The RS is much more of a racecar and sticks to the road like glue, but I tend to think the slower cars are more fun (not that the GT3 is slow, just a little easier to control). I guess I must not have the 997.5 in my garage yet.

There's no story mode, perse. You do a championship race every 2-3 weeks, and inbetween you race different groupings (Class F downhill, Mustang Days, V8 Trackdays, etc). You can also hop in any car at any time and go race any of the events the vehicle qualifies for. If your vehicle doesn't qualify for a race you want, upgrade/downgrade it to fit. All parts you purchase can be taken on/off interchageably.

You have a driver skill level and a vehicle level. Vehicles level out at 5, and you get discounts on parts at each point. My driving level is at 32 or something currently, and you often are rewarded with a free car at each level.

I don't know if there's a limit. I have like 27 + vehicles in my garage right now. I couldn't live without my '92 Civic hatch, S14 Sylvia, E30 BMW, BMW X5, Saleen F-150, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Fiat 500, Shelby Mustang 500, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Lamborghini Reventon... truly more rides than I get to drive. lol
