Just my quick 2 cents though... you're front left and right speakers are way too far from the TV to produce the best soundfield. But if you cant move them closer to the TV, then at least aim them better to the seating area...it seems to be aimed at a position in front of the sofa, instead of the sofa. |

50' Panny 800u Plasma calibrated
Onkyo 7.1 receiver(room is too small to use all 7) 5.1 Definitive Tech 800 series speakers Panny blu-ray PS3 Wii Harmony One remote(must have) Recently remodeled the room so took advantage of the open walls to run all the wires properly. Really need to grab some banana plugs soon though. it is technically her house anyways. Other room has: 40' Sony W series LCD xbox 360 PS3(when wife kicks me out of the other room at take that with me, have it prewired in both rooms for quick swaps)

Any Harmony remote can be used to control the PS3 if:
(1) buy the PS3 adapter (2) buy the Nyko gaming remote and just use the usb adapter. (1) allows you to turn on/off using the harmony. (2) does not turn on PS3 but controls everything else. btw, I thoroughly recommend getting any harmony remotes... i have 3 of them! (basement, living room, bedroom) |

Not sure if an 82" is too big for that stand though, they might have a bigger one. Love your TV stand.

sucks that they haven't updated the remote to include Bluetooth yet. regardless it's still worth the $200 IMO, esp with the help tutorial to fix if something isn't working. now i don't get those annoying calls from my wife, insert whiney wife voice "hun, the tv won't turn on what's wrong? you need to come home to fix this". that not happening anymore is more than priceless.

here is my ecclectic old school meets modern system. the system was originally setup as an audio system and later I added the theater projector. the sound is unbelievable. all my audio collection is ripped to my mac uncompressed so there is no quality loss. video is played either through verizon fios or through bluray dvd player. the speakers are 20 years old and I am the original owner. the mac amp is 35 years old and its in pristine condition and you know they don't mak'em like these old macs anymore. its a tank weighing in at 100 lbs. later on I added the chanel island audio mono bloc digital amps to the setup for a combined 1kw total power output. the speaker cable are the size of a garden hose. my system has given me years of audio bliss and with the addition of the HD theater, well...who needs to go out for entertainment

The rear surrounds are currently a bit close to the surrounds, but we're going to finish an additional area of the basement and dedicate it to the theater, so I didn't want to skimp on speakers now only to regret it later. |

Different strokes for different folks. I like it. The room is very inviting in person, and I plan on keeping it as is, even though I didn't build the house.

dual TV
I couldn' t resist but i have to throw in my buddies set up. He has no clue i just took pics as a few friends are watching the Denver game. He has two 42s work independently, one is hooked up with dvd and other one is hooked up to Apple TV, each TV has their own cable box and can watch two games at ones. APPLE TV is the bomb! Both connected to the internet and all this is controlled by one remote control and all boxes are in his bedroom. infra red i think is what the system uses to read the remote control. best system ive seen for what all he can do under one control. even damn lights are control by the controller.
Unsure if this goes thru but doing it thru my iphone browser. |
